Matilyn Wilson, or best known by Mati, passed away on July 25th, 2096 of old age. She was ninety-six when the most unfortunate thing happened. In this obituary I will highlight key events and accomplishments in her long lived and fulfilled life. Mati was born in Ashville, North Carolina on July 30th, 2000. She was best known for her love of horses and competitive nature riding them. During her high school career as a student, she placed top 10 at states. This was one of her biggest accomplishments at this time of her life. Her sister, Hunter, taught her everything she knew about horses. They worked in the same barn since the two of them were young children. They would clean stalls and train horses to …show more content…
After high school graduation, she set out to the next part of her life; Mati was ready to attend college. Mati always took a liking to math, so she decided to go to college for engineering. She attended Penn State to pursue the engineering degree. She overcame her biggest fear and disappointed no one. Her parents and friends were not surprised when she completed college with the engineering degree that she longed for. As a small child, Mati was always fascinated with all of the heavy equipment her father once worked with, so she set off to find a job in this field. She found a job where they made machines to help factories, and found a passion burning inside her for this kind of work. She changed how they made the machines and made it faster and more efficient. After a couple of years working for a big company, she realized that she needed to work with horses again. Mati and her sister saved enough money to afford to build their own barn. The barn was located in her home state of North Carolina where they started off small with only 3 horses. They would then take in an injured horse and help rehabilitate the horse to perfect health. …show more content…
This time she was aiming for a degree in a farm animal veterinary field. She completed this school in the standard four years while her sister took care of the barn. After she came back from college, Mati and Hunter opened an injured horse clinic. Fortunately, it was right next to her barn. Mati and Hunter would bring in horses from all over the world to perform surgery or help other injured horses. In particular, they rescued one injured horse from a race track and decided to keep the horse with their barn. This opened Mati’s mind and she had a great idea. She and Hunter talked it over and decided to save money to expand the barn that they built many years prior. This new and bigger barn had thirty-two acres they had acquired from an elderly couple next door. She turned this into a horse sanctuary for horses that people either abandoned or could no longer afford to take care of them. Most of the horses they would take in were retired or mistreated race horses. They would take in over two hundred horses before realizing they could no longer take in anymore . After a long time working in the horse clinic, she retired from this occupation. Mati now wanted to pass down knowledge of horses and opened a riding school inside the horse sanctuary. She would teach people from young to old. Her idea would bloom in the upcoming years. The school started to expand and more people were
