A tourist bureau has asked one of their employees Matthew Law to collect and organise data on Australia’s Beaches. A solution must be developed for Matthew so that each beach can be given a surf rating and can also be rated on its facilities. Through a questionnaire Matthew is to collect and organise data on Australian beaches.

A. Understanding the Problem
Data was collected and stored about Australian beaches during the data collection process where the internet and other resources were used to compile a series of questions for the survey. Pilot involves trialling the survey in a small area before introducing it to the public. Direct conversion is introducing it to the public straight away.
Testing, Evaluating and Maintaining
The system is to be continually checked after it has been implemented to ensure that it operating properly. The system must be continually maintained and updated so it is not out of date and runs on all MS operating systems. The survey was created on vista but it was saved in a file format that is compatible with older versions. The system may need to be modified to ensure it suits the needs of the surveyors.
Social and Ethical Issues
The social and Ethical issues in relation to this system are extensive as there are many factors involved. Ethical issues such as copyright of images or information can cause impact because it is illegal in today’s society. Data accuracy is another issue as the data collected by Matthew through the surveys may not be correct or reliable and may be fake data. A social issue in this project is the loss of jobs as a result of this system being created. Another social issue is ergonomics, for example health hazards or environmental factors may become issues when taking this questionnaire. The environment the survey is to be introduced in must be considered and details such as lighting and noise are also to be thought of. Repetitive strain injury is common in this line of
