Mattress Persuasive Speech
If you've found your way here, it's because you have the same question that many ask as they shop for a new mattress. First of all, how can a dumb mattress cost hundreds, or even thousands of dollars? It's a little bit offensive how much some companies ask for these products. But, more importantly, do cheap mattresses exist? Where can they be found? And will they be so lousy that I wake up each night in pain. These are all important questions, and we will take the time in this post to attempt to address your concerns.

First of all, let's think about what makes a mattress so expensive in the first place. I think this is a bit mysterious to most people, myself included. After all, what are we talking about here: a bunch of steel springs encased

Now that production has moved overseas, there are large transportation costs associated with these products. After all, they are large and heavy. So, we have to grant some leniency there. However, that still doesn't get to the bottom of the issue. What has happened, in my estimation, is that someone discovered that people can easily associate increased price with increased quality when it comes to a mattress, much the same way people look at blue jeans or kitchen items. The funny thing is that, with a mattress, no one else can see which brand you've bought. This means that the salesperson has to convince people that they are getting what they pay for -- that cheap mattress sets are cheap for a reason. This is why you've seen the rise of Sleep Train and Mattress Warehouse, and the like. The number one reason mattresses are so expensive is the long food chain of people that need to make money all the way from the manufacturer to the sales person. A mattress may cost $2,000, but there are a lot of people carving their living out of that, and that is why they are happy to point out that it will last 5-10 years, that your cost per night's sleep is less than $1, that you spend more time sleeping than doing anything else, and so on, and so on. Mattresses are big business, and these companies have no incentive to sell you their wares at decent …show more content…
Depending on your circumstances, and your phobias, a used mattress can be a great option. A place like Craigslist often has many barely used mattresses that people have kept in their guest bedrooms for years, and now need to get rid of due to downsizing houses, or any other number of reasons. You'll have to be a careful shopper as there are many unseemly mattresses on there as well, but deals can be had. A lesser know fact though, is classifieds like Craigslist also will often have brand new mattresses for sale by wholesalers who buy large lots of mattresses from mattress warehouses looking to unload inventory. These outfits will get substantial discounts on multiple mattresses and are happy to resell them way below cost. Do a search for new mattress on Craigslist and see what comes

Companies that set a higher price in their market to attract competitors usually do to attract a certain profile of customers. Having a higher priced product usually means that they are carrying a more quality or more unique product. Certain buyers will attract to this to set them selves above the norm. Some companies can set their pricing higher because the customer knows that they will be getting the best of the best and knows that quality behind the product. When I think of an example of this, Mercedes automobiles comes to mind. They set themselves apart from their competition with the overall quality of their line of cars and SUVs. They are able to price their vehicle above the competition and are able to attract a market that is willing to purchase their automobiles at a higher price because the customer knows that when they buy a Mercedes they are getting into a higher class of car that is above the mid level automobiles.…

Remember that these bugs feed on blood and they want to live close to their food source. Although they can crawl as much as 20 feet each way to reach their dinner, a bedbug likes to be as close as possible.…

    Memory Foam Molds

Mold likes damp dark places, and there are few places darker than the core of a memory foam mattress. Memory foam mattresses consist of a memory foam casing and a polyurethane foam inner core. This inner foam core contains millions of air pockets, all of which are capable of housing mold spores. Moisture enters the mattress as you sweat at night or when humidity levels in your home are high. Once moisture and mold spores find their way into the depths of a foam mattress, there is simply no way to get them back out. It thrives inside the millions of air pockets within the foam core. Even if you clean the mold from the surface of the mattress, you risk breathing in dangerous mold spores from within it with every use.…

A Mother to her Waking Infant was first published in 1790; the poem is narrated by a mother who is focusing her thoughts and words towards her newborn baby. The poem is directed solely at the child of the title, with the mothers words starting as the child awakes, Now in thy dazzling half-oped eye. Joanna Baillie uses a number of techniques to mirror and represent a new mothers emotions and affections for her child. The meter and form of the poem help to emphasise these emotions and the various other uses of language contribute to the effect of the piece on a reader.…

Through Utopia, More provided the leaders of his time with keen insights to help improve his world by claiming that they should not be chosen for the leader’s sake but for the citizens comfort and their feeling of being safe. In Utopia, More wrote “Suppose I should maintain that men choose a king not for his sake, but for theirs, that by his care and efforts they may live comfortably and safely.” More meant that people should choose leaders for the good of all people and not for the leader’s sake so they can live comfortably and safely. This is important to Sir Thomas More’s writing because for the people to live in harmony they need a ruler that is going to satisfy their needs instead of his own. They need to pick a ruler that best suit them…
