2. When I first started reading it I thought it was boring. However, as I read on I found it to be somewhat interesting. I do not read or watch the news unless there is a topic that catches my attention. When I find news that does interest me I get my information online. I read several versions of what has been posted. I think the purpose of this selection is to inform people of how time are changing in the way we receive the news. I think this selection is a combination of all those things. It was entertaining because it held my attention and I was interested once I started to read it. Informative because it showed how anyone can become a journalist at little cost. Anyone can produce the news by using personal blogs, internet chat groups, email,or other tools. Didactic because it taught that the consumers can report breaking news more quickly than traditional media reporters due to the availability of technology. Philosophical because he has a good attitude and knows he can't change the way the news is being broadcasted. He encourages the consumers to be active users of media using the digital tools and to explore new ways of producing journalism and communication. It is also argumentative because he talks about the two different sides of journalism, the big media and the grassroots media. He makes a strong case to the big media journalists that they must change or become
