Over the course of my junior year, I had the privilege of witnessing a leg amputation and childbirth, and interacting with cancer patients. During my clinical rotations, we explored how each area of the hospital comes together to function as part of the larger operation. These first-hand experiences made me consider the reality of the medical professions and the incredible way they can change people’s lives. By the end of senior year, I will have successfully completed the EMT program and will have observed the emergency process in action. I have been provided with a great exposure to medicine, and the experience has done nothing to diminish my interest in nursing.
In fact, I’ve been raised to lend a helping hand. From my early days at Prosper High School, I can relate to the struggles of those who are having trouble finding a place to fit in, so I act the way I wish others did immediately for me. It is an instinct for me to spot the lonely kids in a crowd and help them find the people they truly belong with. This trait has been established through my many years of cheerleading.
