Goal 1: Claude will manage his mental health symptoms.

• QP met face to face with Claude, his mother, and older sister.
• QP provided the purpose of this session which was to process the difference between Claude’s mother and father parenting styles.
• QP observed Claude not listening to his father.
• QP asked Claude why he is not complying with his father’s request.
• QP actively listened as Claude’s mother share their parenting styles.
• QP determined how Claude and his older sister are getting along.
• QP witnessed Claude doing small things to irritate his sister.

• Claude’s mother shared, "This will be Claude's last appointment because he is scheduled to see a new psychiatrist for medication in October."
• Claude's mother acknowledged, "I don't know who my caseworker is at DSS, but I need to find out."
• Claude's mother listened as the QP shared she would need to change her doctor before the end of the month, so it can roll over to the new doctor's office at the beginning of the month which is October.
• Claude's mother informed the QP, "I have found an agency I am interested in going to with my kids name Yelverton Enrichment."
• Claude's mother gave the QP the information for Yelverton Enrichment to verify the family's

    According to the World Health Organization (2005) Botswana, Africa, spends only 1% of the country’s health budget on mental health. The country does offer locations in communities for the training of mental health nurses. There are also community care facilities for patients suffering from mental disorders. However; due to a lack of psychiatrists in the country, the mental health trained nurses are responsible for all aspects of mental health services for the population. These nurses are also responsible for training others in mental health. According to the World Health Organization there are only 1.1 psychiatric beds per 10,000 people and only .7 beds in mental hospitals, the rest being in general hospitals.
