The Drug Cartels in mexico currently run a 20 plus billion dollar a year industry. This industry has led to the deaths of more than 60,000 Mexican citizens. Another important area of discussion is the immigration issues that have faced the united states from mexico as immigrants attempt to flee mexico for a variety of reasons. Mexico is also a major recipient of remittances, in 2012 the state department estimated over 22 billion dollars’ worth was sent from relatives living in America. Communication with the Mexican government on what they would like done in regards to immigration and drug trafficking crime. This could be done under a new agency such as the Mexican American Agency on Trafficking and legal migration. This agency would not only facilitate talks with Mexico but have the capacity to provide assistance on multiple levels. This agency would take over Immigration issues and Green Card applications in regards to only Mexican American affairs. This agency would promote an eventual European Union style of cross border jobs, where Americans and Mexican nationals travel across the border daily to work. The future is with Mexico, an important economic partner as well as a geographic neighbor.
