So, for example, there is a person who thinks to be helpful, but the people around the person feel this help as obtrude. External images are very subjective and can change from friend to friend. But everybody develops imaginations of how he self is viewed by his friends (supposed external image). However, you haven´t got a direct influence to change the external image. !
In fact, it is very important for students to create a realistic intrapersonal perception because it helps them in their study. Bercher (2012, p. 26-27) determines, that students who know themselves are better able to adjust their mind and performance. That means, having a realistic imagination from yourself helps you to estimate the learning stuff and to learn it organised and coordinated. An unrealistic intrapersonal perception often results in unrealistic estimations of the learning stuff and students overestimate their own capabilities which lead to bad marks in the tests. Moreover, it is necessary that the student gets feedback which can be positive or negative. This helps him, to judge his results as well as it helps him to improve his work the next time. This can result in a chaotic, unorganized work performance. A successful leader should lead his employees, coordinate them in order to achieve their aims and he has the functional task of cohesiveness. However, these skills are learnable, because there are so many coach trainings and books out there. But, some leaders can use these skills in a negative way in order to manipulate their employees which is shown in work without having a choice. To be more precisely, manipulative employees or leader try to convince other employees of a special opinion in order to enforce their aim. However, leaders have to be careful because of the high expectations to them from the employees. This can, in some cases, according to Maree Roche and Jarrod M. Haar (2013, p. 515) lead to burnout and overextension.
