My name is Aradora Guzman. I've been struggling, a lot, this year. But I have my friends, everything should be fine. Just kidding, that's what I would say if I was drunk. My parents are minimum wage workers and can barely support me. Not to mention, they're divorced too. Coping with this has been mentally challenging to the point where I've been diagnosed with severe depression, and I'm only in 7th grade! You might've expected me to brush it off like nothing, but no. I'm standing

I'm a skeptic! Cece Jar. Am I speaking too quietly? Sorry -- Ahem! That's much better than that. Aradora is my best friend ever! Yes, I DO need that much ever. I was born and raised in Chicago, then immigrated to Mexico where Narsieto Middle School resides. Don't tell Miabella and Athena-- this is supposed to be between us, ok? I don't like them very much. They're quite mean, he said. I've been doing quite well this year! It is my honor to have helped Aradora to start volleyball, something I've been playing since the start of 6th grade. I mean, it is just too much fun a sport! You can't say no to that. Also.. don't tell Aradora but she's a little unathletic... Aradora. If you see this I'm sorry you're still my favorite person in the …show more content…
acquaintances. I don't think they're on a high enough level to be my friend friends-- but you get the idea, at least I had somewhere to sit. Despite that, I was more than grateful for Cece to adopt me into her friend group, and guess what? Now we're best friends forever! But that doesn't cure my depression and mild anxiety. As much as I wish it did, I had 0 motivation to do anything academically or athletically. You see-- I've been diagnosed with depression since I overheard my parents considering putting me into adoption because of... hypothetically, their financial situation. As much as I'd like to be the perfect daughter who never gets mad, clearly not! In fact, who

Needs. Being a self-sufficient man who is probably seasoned in wilderness hunting or other skills needed to survive in the untamed world back then in 20th century America. Although the outdoors wasn’t exactly safe, it wasn’t exactly dangerous either. You could camp out and live there without much worry, and there were plenty of berries, game, mushrooms, and other sources of food as well. However, George’s safety needs are not even existent; evident by the fact of him possessing three dollars. He does hold a good relationship with Lennie, so there isn’t much trouble there. George is just a run-of-the-mill worker, and the people he meets while at his new source of employment see him as such. He has nothing to be psyched about. With Lennie, as he evidently says constantly in the story, he could do a lot better off without him. Lennie on the hand, lacks tangibility in all categories of this triangle of sorts. He needs George, is often picked on and acknowledges it. Although a very good worker (and proven), he is incapable of making his own decisions truly and does not function well in society. Lennie has no idea what he’d want to be. In the sense of other characters, some vary often. For example, Slim is a very skilled skinner and he is a huge part of the ranch they are working at; nearly irreplaceable. Candy, on the other hand, is very dispensable. He is past his prime wildly, basically handicapped, and is a train wreck after his old dog is put down by Carlson. The other people in the camp are regulars; they are the bulk of the ranch so they wouldn’t necessarily be dismissed quickly, and can take little parts in these sections of the triangle.…

When I first met Lanette I was just 7 years old. My family and I moved into the house right across the yard. My parents told me to go and play on their swing set they had in their back yard. I was very nervous, but my mother told me it was a great way to make friends. After about 5 minutes of playing on the swing set Lanette comes out with her youngest daughter and that was the very first time we met. From then on my mother became close friends with Lanette. Her daughter and I also became close friends. Over the years I grew up with best friends right across the yard from me. Lanette was always a role model of mine. She held her head up high and was always there when I was sad. She was there when I just wanted to talk about life,…

I slowly crept towards the barn until I could see who was inside. There were crooks, Candy and Lennie. I tried to stay quiet but as I tiptoed near the horses they all got alarmed and gave away my position. Their heads all turned in synch. “Curly ain't been here,” Candy Immediately hissed at me.…

Thankfully, George didn't seem to be mad at me. He didn't seem to be mad at me at all. We were both beside the brush far away from the ranch, infront of a vast river. Across the river was the Gabilan mountain range, which reminded me of the rabbits that I would soon be able to tend with George. I asked him to tell me about the other guys an' about us, like he's done before. Then I asked him to tell me how it's gonna be in the future, at our farm. I love it when he talks about the farm, and the way he describes it is so dreamy. Once again, it felt as if I fell into a deep trance by George's words; I could imagine all the rabbits and the alfalfa, the cows, pigs, and chickens.. All in our very own farm where we have our own freedom. As George…

After reading the book of mice and man and watch the movie I preferred reading the book than watching the movie. In the movie it didn’t explain and describe ever seen that happen in the book.Watching the movie it doesn't really show the audience what the author meant to show to his readers. Even thought the movie was good it didn't show exact description of the character and the had a different setting. There are major different between the book and movie like, characters are portrayed, scenes and Lennie’s state of mind.…

A comparison of these two passages yields the concept that nature possesses a conflict between the ideal and the reality. One way Steinbeck expresses this theme is through his use of imagery. For example, he illustrates this imagery in the way he describes the actions of the woodland environment and how it changes from the beginning to end. Another way Steinbeck shows this idea is through the use of detail in his writing. An example of this would be how he describes the environment and animals in specific detail that provides an idea of what is going to happen next. Lastly Steinbeck’s use of organization in Of Mice and Men helps to show this reoccurring theme. He does this through the way he explains one idea fully and then transitions smoothly to the next. This visualized theme is that nature can be ideal and beautiful but survival sometimes requires harsh reality.…

Loneliness is a basic part of human life. Every one becomes lonely ones in a while but in Steinbeck’s novella “Of Mice and Men”, he illustrates the loneliness of ranch life and shows how people are driven to try finding friendship in order to escape from loneliness. He uses names and words such as a town near the ranch called “Soledad”. He makes it clear that all the men on the ranch are lonely, with particular people lonelier than others. I think all the people living in the ranch are lonely. This proves this where Steinbeck describes the bunk house where all the workers sleep. “Over each bunk there was nailed and apple box with the opening forward so that it made two shelves for personal belongings of the occupant of the bunk.” The way Steinbeck’s describes the bunkhouse indicates their lonely lives.…

A constant war bounced around in mind as I wondered if coming to this game was worth the stress. I chatted with teachers on my way inside feeling relieved to see familiar faces. Next, I made my way towards the hill besides the expansive bleachers. The smell of cheap perfumes and colognes mixing together stung my nose as people stand way too close in small groups. I greeted the people whom I had made acquaintances within the first week of school before gravitating to a close friend.…
