I believe that is it perfectly normal, if not helpful, to have a belief in something beyond ourselves, such as God. Science cannot disprove our beliefs, as proven by those who believe in psychics and mediums, even though science tells us that neither of those exist. Though I am not quite sure an extraterrestrial is the reason for my existence, I do believe that science disproves the existence of God. How can there be room for ideas such as heaven and hell and an ever-present God when the universe is so vast and inconceivable to the human mind? In this aforementioned vastness of the universe, who is to say that more intelligent life does not exist and that science explains the complexity of Earth and human life.
