Middle Classed Family Observation Paper

For this assignment I observed two families, one was an upper middle classed family that I encountered in Target. I also observed a seemingly lower middle classed family I encountered them in a local grocery store. Both these families were white they also had many similarities as well as differences the differences they had were like night and day. Going into this assignment I thought that all middle classed families were like the ones that are portrayed on television the snobby, privileged, and stiff people who didn’t care about anyone but themselves, I chose an upper middle classed family and a lower middle classed family just to compare how they acted with their family and how they interacted with others in the stores, or wherever they are outside of the home. The upper middle classed family that I observed fit the traditional family scheme a mother, father, and children. This family in particular had 3 children, a preschool aged girl, a 7 or 8-year-old girl, and a preteen boy. The mother was middle aged possibly about 40 years old, and the father was also middle aged about
I would like to study these families more to see how their home life is just to make sure that they act the same no matter where they are. For instance, does the children from the upper classed families show their parents the same level of respect as they did in the store when I observed them, or are the girls really that disrespectful to their caregiver? I would also like to know that what caused each family to have the characteristics that they possess, for instance what caused the older woman to “lose control” of the girls? What made the upper classed parents have the level of communication they had with their children? Learning about parenting styles has always interested me, but before doing this assignment I never noticed them the way I do know after doing this
