Midsummer Night's Dream Smooth

“The course of true love never did run smooth” Lysander said in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This is a play is about a group of four Athenian lovers and their journey through love along with the ruler of Athens and his soon to be wife, and of course the King fairy and his wife. This quote from Lysander, one of the Athenian lovers, is relevant in this story because of the difficulties in all of the relationships. Lysander and his lover Hermia, Theseus, the king of Athens, and his lover Hippolyta, and lastly, Oberon, the fairy king, and his wife Titania, all travel a bumpy road on the path to true love. Lysander and Hermia is a prime example of young love. The only problem with this is that Hermia’s dad, Egeus, will not allow her to marry Lysander but in fact wishes her to marry another boy, Demetrius. Egeus gives Hermia two
The two of them begin fighting over who gets to have control of a young indian boy that was given to the two of them. When the Two fight, it causes nature to misbehave, such as it stroming. To get his way, Oberon uses the love potion on Titania causing her to fall in love with an ass. Doing this distracts Titania from the boy and Oberon takes control of him. Soon after, he takes the spell off of his wife and things go back to normal. She does not care that he has control over the Indian boy and the two of them are now happy. Therefore, as Lysander said “The course of true love never did run smooth”, and this is true throughout this play in the different relationships. With Lysander and Hermia’s forbidden love becoming acceptable at the end of the play. Along with Theseus and Hippolyta becoming closer and Oberon and Titania making up. The play then ends with all the lovers going off to their rooms after the wedding ceremonies. In conclusion, after all the couples traveled the bumpy road, they all ended in love, happily ever
