Mikels goal
It was indeed a bizarre day and weekend for not only Chelsea fans but football fans all over the world, as the 21st of September 2013 may not ever be forgotten in there memory, and would be marked in their calendar as the day JOHN MIKEL OBI of Nigeria scored a league goal for Chelsea after seven years of being in the premiership.

FINALLY!!! was the world that came out of my mouth when i saw Mikel's leg suspend in the air and scored a good volley for Chelsea second goal against fulham, but i thought i was only being sarcastic as a man utd fan with the word "FINALLY" until i heard the person sitting next to me saying " what was he doing there", i could not help but laugh when i heard that, until it was clear to me how strange or maybe even mysterious for people to see Mikel score a league goal for Chelsea.

The excitement that day made me miss an action, cause i was happy congratulating the Chelsea fans that i didn't see Chelsea owner giving Mikel and his goal a standing ovation, clapping for him with smiles all over his face, of course we do see Roman Abramovic excited when ever Chelsea score a goal, but not every time we see "Baba olowo" (billionaire) given a standing ovation, and it was clear he was doing that because John Mikel obi scored a goal, which am not sure he has ever seen him do.

Another strange thing Mikel's goal brought was what really caught my fancy which lead me to the title of this piece, and it was the manner the Nigeria fans in the viewing center where i was watching was congratulating themselves irrespective of the team they support, i saw man utd fans sharing hug with there Chelsea fans, likewise Arsenal, man city, Barcelona and Madrid fan, even the Seria A fans and the newly bundesliga fans shaking hands with Chelsea fans, all because Nigeria Mikel Obi scored a goal, and for the rest of the match there was what i call peace and excitement at the viewing center.

Nigerians was indeed very happy that their own JOHN OBI MIKEL

Adam Sweeting comment “Not so much a football tournament, more another excuse for a round the clock orgy of comment analysis, name dropping, beer drinking and statistic swapping”. After a long hard battle throughout the game it came down to the last few seconds the ball was kicked to David Zaharakis who was in just his fourth game who turned around and kicked an absolute beauty to give the bombers the lead. The ball was then bounced and siren went, Zaharakis in his rookie season had become a hero and had given the bombers the ANZAC game victory over Collingwood 93-88. The reason I have selected this image is because I am an Essendon fan and I will never forget the moment he kicked that goal, it was incredible and has stuck with me 8 years…

The Sonoma State University Library has many non-student individuals visiting campus daily who could benefit from the library’s services. For example, a high school is located on the SSU on campus, Oakmont Retirement community members attend free lectures, and neighbors who live nearby visit the campus for its scenery and concerts. Increasing library usage by promoting services to these individuals would have multiple benefits for the SSU library. As more individuals return to the library to use services, more staff are needed to create a stronger, more efficient library team, which also provides jobs for members of the community. Promoting library services to a wider audience…
