“Mission First, People Always”: In order for the mission to be accomplished, I need your 110% at all tasks at hands. Every soldier in this platoon from PL all the way down to private will do the upmost to ensure that our mission is accomplished. I expect every soldier to work at the level of his or her duty and rank and always strive to complete the mission. When it comes to people, it is of my utmost priority to take care of you all as soldiers and provide you with proper guidance and support in any way possible. In addition, I see your families as part of this family therefore; it will be my priority to foster family participation when permissible. Respect. Insubordination will not be tolerated. I will never ask of my soldiers what I will not do myself. If it is not illegal, immoral or unethical you are obliged to follow orders no matter the situation. Treat others, as you would like to be treated and always respect the rank and position of those above you as well as your fellow soldiers. Be flexible and be mindful. If a problem occurs and a soldier is not comfortable with their direct CoC, I have an open door policy. Nonetheless, the proper CoC should be used at all times.
i. In addition, discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated and if it is reported or seen/heard by me, appropriate action will be taken. Discrimination includes prejudices against gender, religion, creed, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and race. Sexual harassment/assault will be dealt with severely under UCMJ. I expect all soldiers to be culturally sensitive and respect others’
