Military Personal Statement

From the first plastic set of Army Soldiers I played with as a child, I have been interested in most all military things. I would set up my soldiers in a strategic and specific placement with all the tanks and other pieces simulating a battlefield. I have enjoyed most anything associated with the military from video games, movies, museums, collectibles and any opportunity to talk to a military veteran. Still today, my toys have increased in value but I still collect items and every chance to learn more about the history and present day military.

I feel like the experience that I had when I went to a Flight School summer camp for two summers was so interesting it made an impression in my thinking that I would like to be involved in some way with the military in my future careers. I participated in so many interesting things and met so many people that had my same
The character of the people I have met and their commitment and strength is very admirable and helps me understand that it is the kind of person I would like to be.

I have joined the NJROTC this year for these reasons and seen that there is something special about the brotherhood and the pride in serving. I have learned respect for others and have found many friends that enjoy being a part of this too.

I try to think about which part of the military I like the best and what about the different branches that I find interesting. I think the Marine Corp seems to be the ultimate challenge and would allow me to use my interest for the best fit for me. I enjoy shooting targets and being outdoors and I see that the Marines would give me the opportunity to be involved in direct combat. The missions that the Marines are given are usually the most challenging and special opportunities for specific training in the things that I find most
