TITLE:

A homemade moisturizing soap that is made out from Malunggay leaves

Methodology:

• Materials - Glycerine - Malunggay - Essential Oil - Mortar and Pestle - Saucepan - Spoon - Soap molder - Vegetable Oil

• Procedure

1. Using mortar and pestle, crash your desired number of Malunggay leaves then after crashing the leaves, put it in a small plate.
2. Bring ¼ cup of water and boil it. Add about 2 tablespoon of the crashed malunggay leaves. Let the mixture steep for about
5 – 10 minutes.
3. Add in the glycerine soap but before adding the soap, make sure that it is sliced into 4 pieces. Take 2 slices of the glycerine soap then carefully grate it. Now, add the grated soap to the mixture. After a minute or two, now add the essential oil to make your soap more interesting.
4. Once finished with the process, pour the mixture into the soap molder but make sure to coat your soap molder first with vegetable oil.
5. After 2 – 3 hours, remove the soap from the soap molder then allow it to harden for 1 – 2 days or wait for it until it is hard enough to use.

Objectives:

This soap making process aims to prove that Malunggay can also be used as an alternative ingredient that is ideal in making soaps. We also want to prove the following:

• If Malunggay can also be used as a soap other than its common uses.
• To produce a soap out of malunggay which is not a common ingredient in soap making.
• To find out possible effects of malunggay when used as a soap.
• If there is any nutrients and constituents of malunggay that is good for the skin.
• If there is a significant effect of using this kind of
