Monologue From Amy Tan's A View From The Bridge
My dearest wife
Tell me how are you doing? There are no words to describe how I'm missing you and the kids. Is (ill son name) doing alright, is he better than before? I know it has been hard but I know you will take care of them, now that I'm not there to help you, but when I get my first pay I will quickly send it to you so you can spend it on medicine and stuff you need. Rodolpho and I arrived safely in America thanks to Beatrice's husband, I can't complain about the ride, as we are illegally boarding we need to be hidden down, once or twice someone brought us food...as long as I arrive in America I will be happy, I thank Beatrice so much for doing this. How I wish to be there with you but what I am doing is for our good, sadly I have to stay here for several years so we can have a

Beatrice's husband is called Eddie; he has Sicilian descent, and a longshoreman, he has some trust issues when it comes to meeting new people and he sometimes can be very obsessive he is basically the master of the house considering that if he says something it has to be done; he is very protective especially with his niece Catherine who he treats her as its own daughter. Catherine is a really energetic and joyful young lady that's barely in her 17 and I've notice that Eddie is like a father to her and she loves him a lot as she is always asking for his approval for everything she does, she was really excited when she first met us! My first week here was like a flash! I can say I quite like the way everything looks so unrealistic! New York is nothing compared to the streets in Sicily. My work is full of longshoremen. I like the ways things are going with my new job I can say it's nothing compared to what I lived back there. My pay per week is 30 dollars! Can you imagine that? I will send 20 dollars a week so that you can spend it, and the rest of the money I will save it and when I need it I will use

People search forever to find true love, but true love will never be found if you can’t find true love within yourself. In the poem “Monologue for an Onion”, by Suji Kwock Kim, the metaphor isn’t just about the onion it’s also about being loved. Everyone falls in love at least once. And this love feels everlasting and perfect, as if it’s never going to end. Then, when the moment of heartbreak happens, it feels as if the world is crumbling right in front of you. People have different ways of handling a broken heart. Whether it’s denial, anger, or sadness, the feeling of not being loved is surreal. In this poem, the onion is a man that is no longer in love with his significant other and tells how…

Hello! My name's River. River Brave. Sounds pretty sassy, right? Just as much as my personality. But it's just because i live alone, like, for 8 years? And now my 19th birthday is coming up in July. I don't know who my parents are or were, because i was found wandering in the streets alone by elder couple. They were pretty nice but died when i was 11. I was able to take care of myself because i continued living in their house for 3 years, but i left because there was no shops, malls or stores, if there were, then they are abandoned by now. So i took some money with me and headed to the city, but it's dangerous here and i need to hide from other people. Why? Because I'm not normal. "I'm unique!" I keep telling myself, since i burned a man alive.…
