The terms polytheism and monotheism have been around for centuries, they are known as complete opposite of each other. Polytheism is the belief that there many gods to believe in, whom come with their own mythologies and rituals. An example of people who were polytheistic was the ancient Egyptians and Mesopotamians who were around since 3000 B.C. Both of the ancient civilizations had gods for sun, water, sky, and fertility. Some of the religions that are polytheistic in this day and age are Jainism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Voodoo, Geniism, Asatru and many more.
