Moonrise Kingdom Analysis

It all begins in the minds of two 12 year olds wanting to fit in and be loved, “Moonrise Kingdom” a story about misfortune and love. Directed by Wes Anderson, “Moonrise Kingdom” displays the developing love between Sam, who is played by Jared Gilman, and Suzy, who is played by Kara Hayward, who run away together in hope of escaping their harsh worlds. Sam is an orphaned Khaki scout that has wilderness skills to get him anywhere he needs. Suzy acts like a typical pre-teen with an attitude and a strong hate for her parents. All pieces of this film are completely developed with directing and good performances, but the true stars are Gilman and Hayward. When they first met you could tell that they clicked instantaneously, and that they would get along very well on their run away adventure. They quickly start their journey to a specific location that Sam has found and planned to build camp together and live their. Sooner than later Suzy’s parents find that she is missing as for Sam’s Khaki scout master, who later notify the authorities and begin their search. Sam and Suzy get a small taste of freedom as for the search party continues to look for the missing pre-teens. Suzy’s parents figure out that Suzy sent letters back and forth with Sam and that gave out their location which led to them successfully finding the kids. Sam gets taken by the sheriff who gets social services involved to take the child into custody. Suzy gets taken home by her parents and it seems she has little to no
