Most unforgettable moment in college
Since I’m still in college, I have rich experience of what happens. And I can tell you with certainty – the world may be becoming globalised… But college still stays the same. My sister graduated nearly 5 years ago, my parents a very long time ago, my grandparents even longer, but we share similar experiences (using the word ‘similar’ very loosely) College is where you are thrust into the real world but at the same time can still maintain the sense of being taken care of. It’s the place where you learn new things, things you have never heard of before, where you do new things, things you have never done before, where you meet different people, people you have DEFINITELY NEVER met before. It’s all about the ‘nouveau’ factor in college. And for those reading this and who study in a university, yeah chill out, this happens to you guys too!
It’s the simple things in life that make you smile, is what I agree. So today, my class had a quiz for Economics class. Like all tests, the possibility of cheating is always present. And like all class quiz without proper supervision, cheating is going to be rampant. Now be fairly warned – I don’t condone cheating of any kind like in sports or competitions. But a 10 mark quiz that you are taking and will probably never remember and while you are sitting 1/2 m away from your friends… Come on teachers, get FREAKING real! We are bound to cheat…. And that’s exactly what we did! *devilish smile while I’m writing this*
To all those teachers out there who despair against such students (including my very competent mother) I’m sorry but that’s just how students go. College students are thus no different. In a way, college is like the limbo stage between school and working life – You are an adult but made to sit in classes, listen, take notes and write exams. You are also at the same time supposed to be responsible and branch out into other activities which will ultimately help you succeed in whichever

Usually inbreeding is a great tool used to get more of the desired traits in livestock, but when it comes to wild animals the outcome is not as successful. I feel that inbreeding is only harmful to wild animals because unlike domesticated animals wild animals are not in a controlled environment. I believe that there is much more effort put into conserving endangered species in the wild. After all the programs made for red wolves, they still seem to not be at the desired or expected population…

College isn’t what it should be. Students nowadays are focused on having fun. They think college is a place of freedom where they can just do as they please and not care about their schooling, “Life is at parties, at clubs, in music, with friends, in sports” (Edmundson). Students have gained independence and feel like they must do crazy things. Or…

Yes, college is a very important academic institution in one’s life, mainly helping to determine a career that one will pursue for a long time after school. But there is so much more to college than the schoolwork. In fact this is a topic that I have spoken about recently, at a showcase at my high school over break. My old computer science teacher hosted a showcase for his students about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) careers featuring students in college or that have graduated from college, speaking about how college works along with classes and the STEM majors and careers. The main point I would try to convey to the students is to get involved with something right away, because if all you focus on is your schoolwork you are going to have a miserable time at college. However, using the hidden intellectualism of being social, you can make friends, join clubs, compete in sports, and things like that which can not only make you happier, but even help your academic studies. The art of being social can be quite difficult, and it truly is a form of hidden intellectualism, and you can clearly see who is good and who is not with it. And ironically enough in most scenarios the most book smart students are those who struggle most in social settings. Not that that holds true in all scenarios, but it is quite common. That right there…

is due to the fact of their lack of time management, and money. It is possible the student has had made poor decisions in which has obviously affected them later on. The students are more focused on the now instead of what will be, causing them to lose track of the ultimate goal. Admittedly, when a majority of the student body enters college they tend to focus more on the social aspect of college life rather than the academics in which will prepare them for life itself.…

I believe the biggest challenge college students face today is the fact that a lot of them are not mentally prepared. A lot of students do not realize that college is a whole new ball game. In high school some people do not really have to study to make an A, but in college you really have to work for just getting a B. Some students can go in with the mentality "well I was one of the best at my school, it is not going to be different in college" and that is what is wrong. Students in high school should have a week or two were they are graded as if they were in college just to give them a taste of how much they have to work and how disappointing it may be for…

Many students go to college with the sole intention to get their degree, become employed, and earn a higher salary. Students with these intentions tend to struggle more throughout their college years. Students go to college because they obtain skills and characteristics that employers find desirable. These skills and characteristics also allow them to function in society. Making the leap from high school classrooms to college campuses can be difficult for many students simply because college professors expect so much more inside and outside of the classroom. The transition between high school and college is an unreal experience for many. For a young student your entire life you need to follow all of these rules. You have to do what you’re told to do.
