Motion pictures captured the hearts of audiences from their birth and have won millions of devoted fans around the world. Even though later technological developments, such as the television, the video and more recently the DVD, made private viewing of motion pictures possible, the big screen has not lost its appeal. Especially comedies on the big screen have a certain spirit that cannot be reproduced. Not only the size of the screen and the quality of the sound influence the atmosphere, but watching movies in a comfortable and attractive enviroment with a big box of popcorn also makes it incomparable to everything else.
Second, when you watch a movie at home, you can easily be distracted. In other words, at the cinema people are obviously interested in the movie, they are probably not talking much or trying to interrupt you. As a matter of fact, it is easier there to keep out other people and annoying noises in order to focus on the message.
Last but not least, movie theaters have more and more new features nowadays. There is an ultra-modern enviroment available with hundreds of technical developments. For instance, movies in 3D are incredibly popular these days. In addition, there are special types of cinemas, such as the drive-in movie theaters, cinemas with VIP-sections and IMAX system, arthouses, second-run and outdoor movie theaters, and so on.
All in all, the big screen has not lost its audience for a reason. Cinemas always give people an exciting, unique experience with their many modern features and cosy enviroment. In my opinion, watching a movie on premiere or our favourite one on the big screen is always preferable than staying
