Dear Sir or Madam,
In my country, especially in my region, people do not realize the importance of business to increase the economy. most people want to become civil servants. It was not bad, but the difference between number of the applicants and available jobs is very obvious and the economy will not increase if the people only focus on the same thing every time. So, we should encourage people to do business, that is one of my reasons why I want to pursue my study in MBA Program.
I worked in Caritas Czech Republic for 2 years, there were so many things that I learn in there, especially in terms of improving the local economy, but I have to quit because I want to continue my study.
CCR is implementing a project that aims to reduce poverty by aiding four key challenges faced by patchouli growers: strengthening agricultural methodology, improving technical distillation, developing effective cooperatives and improving links to buyers. The project is now active in four districts of Aceh: Aceh Jaya, Aceh Barat, Aceh Selatan and Gayo Lues from 1 November 2010 until 31 May 2012, funded by the AEDFF. I think it is a huge opportunity for the people, especially for patchouli growers to increase their economy.
Patchouli oil from Aceh is the best one in Indonesia, but the growers don't get a great income because the brokers buy it from them with a low price. in November 2010, the price is achieved more than Rp.1.000.000 per liter, but the farmers just get Rp. 250.000 per liter from the brokers. If we can promote this patchouli oil to international market and built up the network to other countries, then we can export it without selling it first to the brokers, so the price can be more reasonable, and the economy of the growers will be increased, and it also increase the economy of the country, especially when the country receive foreign exchange from the exportation.
