The topic I choose was supercross and motocross, I choose these because I love them both. I used to race myself and, I go to supercross every year down in Seattle. I know the rules pretty well and love learning about them more and more.
First off ill start with how many riders there are in both. Motocross has 25 riders super cross has 20 bigger track means they can have more riders on the track at once. Next is the type of racing you will see when you watch them in super cross there is heats and to get in to the main event later in the night you have to place in the top 8 the rest have one more chance called the last chance qualifier or (LCQ). In motocross you have mottos which are like heats but they are the main event of the day. Winner takes all. One 250cc race and one 450cc race. Also is the amount of laps you will experience in super cross main event you will see 20 riders going twenty laps and winner takes the cash and top finishers get money too. Motocross is a little different instead of laps they have a time limit of 55 minutes and you will race around the track as fast as you can for the amount of time that is posted, Winner takes all. Next is the environment super cross is mostly indoor expect for stadiums like century link field in Seattle that is outdoor. But stadiums like the one at Minnesota those are indoor and have no weather factor at all. Fast clean racing. Motocross is all outdoor and no matter what the elements are you have to race and sometimes you experience a very sloppy track. Lastly is the track type. The super cross track is tight and narrow they are fast but have a lot of rhythm sections and requires the riders to be very smooth and fast. Motocross tracks have long fast open tracks that flow with the environment. And are way faster then super cross requires the rider to be fast and dangerous but still smooth. Super cross and motocross have a lot of differences but also are very similar
