Mr. Frank In The Diary Of Anne Frank

My research on Mr. Frank shows that he is a smart and caring person. I would argue his character in the Diary of Anne Frank (Act 1 Scene 2) is close to historically accurate to what happened in the actual event. Mr. Frank is the father of Anne Frank, the young girl who lived in hiding for over 2 years during World War II along with 8 others. She managed to stay positive through the period of time and logged everything in her diary. After getting out of hiding, Mr. Frank managed to get the diary published; being the last ‘accomplishment’ of his life. Mr. Frank was a very smart, tactical person because he was making sure everyone was safe when the green police were at the door. He was one of the few people worrying as they heard people pacing

Because of this, it shows that Mr. Frank is brave enough to take responsibility, while being logical and concerned for his family. I feel like it is already well represented in the play as is. It does not really show Mr. Frank as the only useful person in the house but at the same time does flex his abilities. Mr. Frank shows to be very supportive as well. The best examples of this are not in the diary, but rather after they came out of hiding. Mr. Frank shows to be very kind and supportive of what his daughter, Anne, had written in her diary. According to annefrank.org, Anne wrote in her diary “I’ll make my voice heard, I’ll go out into the world and work for mankind” (entry on 4/11/44). Otto, being the only survivor, decided to make her wish a reality. He got the diary to be published in multiple languages and it even became a best-seller. This shows how loving he is for Anne. Even though she wasn't with him, he still tried to respect her wishes and worked really hard for it. I feel like this action reveals that he would be a very generous person who would go out of his way to help someone
