Research Assistant (Short Term)

BACKGROUND
Roberts Caribbean Ltd, a local real estate and environmental and development company is seeking to recruit the services of a short term Research Assistant to assist with the timely completion of planned targets.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Research Assistant will be responsible for the following:
1. Conduct secondary literature reviews and collect and analyze primary field data as needed to ensure timely completion of targeted project/s.
2. Provide leadership in drafting research reports and other required documents.
3. Liaise with government, private sector and civil society officials as needed in the execution of duties.
4. Organize logistic arrangements to facilitate the convening of interviews and meetings.
5. Participate in planned project meetings to discuss progress and strategies for assignment implementation.
6. Undertake other duties as assigned by the CEO.
Qualifications and Competencies
The ideal candidate should be capable of working in fast pace dynamic environment, be an excellent team player and results driven. He/she should have solid research and writing skills, demonstrate great interpersonal capacities, with the ability to work with minimal supervision (self-starter). The successful candidate should have a Bachelor degree in environmental or disaster management, development studies or related fields. In the absence of the aforementioned academic qualification, at least five years experience in research and technical document preparation is needed. Knowledge of disaster management and/or policy development would be considered an asset.
