Mrs. Redden's Summary
Mrs.Redden is an Aquatic Science teacher at New Caney High School. When the students arrived into the classroom, they sat in their assigned seats. Before starting class, Mrs.Redden waited till everyone put away their phones. She addressed that if she continued to see phones, she would feel obligated to give her students a write up. Once everyone was settled in, she made her whole class read the objectives and agenda on the whiteboard. The objectives and agenda consisted of reviewing aquatic vocabulary by matching the correct words with their definition, reviewing one last time by playing Kahoot and take a quiz over the material during the end of class. After they finished reviewing, the student with the highest points was awarded with 5 extra points on their quiz. Mrs.Redden instructed her students to put their electronics away because they were soon going to take a quiz. Once the tables were cleared from all of the electronics, Mrs.Redden started passing out the quizzes. She instructed them to write their names and the period they attended her class so that the teacher would not get confused while she grades the papers. When all of the papers were out, Mrs.Redden walked around the whole room to make sure that the students were not copying from one another or using any electronics to search for the correct answers. The students raised their hands in order for Mrs.Redden to pick up the papers. Mrs.Redden silenced some students that were talking because others were still testing and gave them a warning. Once everyone was done testing, Mrs.Redden gave out worksheets with cross word puzzles to all of the students. She addressed that the students were allowed to use their in class notes in order to fill out the puzzles. The students continued to work on their cross word puzzles until the school bell

    In This POW, our task was to find out how Carletta, a highly intelligent and very talkative student solved her wise teacher’s problem. She and two other students were complaining about the number of POW’s that they have had to complete throughout the semester. The teacher and the three students made a deal. The three complaining students would close their eyes and sit down in chairs. While they were sitting down, the teacher would take three hats out of a possible five, (3 blue hats and 2 red hats) and place one hat on each student’s head and then hide the other two. Then, one at a time, the students would open their eyes, look at the other two students’ heads, and try to guess which color hat was on their own head. The students had two options. They could either to guess what color of hat they had on their own head or pass. If a student guessed the correct color of hat on their own head they would be exempt from any POW’s the rest of the semester, but if they guess wrong they had to do all of the POW’s as well as grading all of the others students’ POW’s. The other option is to pass, if a student chose to pass then the workload stayed the same. The first student, Arturo, opened his eyes and looked at the other person’s heads. He couldn’t tell for sure what color of hat he had on, so he decided to pass. The next student, Belicia, looked up and saw that she couldn’t tell by looking at the other’s hats either so she decided to pass also. Carletta was third. She sat there, with her eyes still closed tightly and said, “I know what color hat I have on,” and she gave the correct answer. Our task is to find out how she did this.…

    Her assistant teacher is riding the bus at this time of the day picking the students up. While waiting for the students to arrive Ashley is getting everything ready for the day ahead. She would either getting things ready for small groups, get the music ready for the day or she might be cleaning up anything that might be still laying around from the day before.
