MS2 Assignment 1
This module is evaluated by Assignment #1, it does cover the material from Module 1 and 2.
Q2
For full marks please use the correct memo format; always use the standard components of the header

Memorandum

Date 27 December, 2013
To…u .
From…t .
Subject Line….
& one last tip, never sign a memo (:
A memo should start with an introductory sentence or two to tell the reader why you are sending the memo.
You may use bullets, point form and subheadings but make sure your answer is complete and concise. So note the requirements:
Identify the committee members current role and expected project roles
Outline what criteria you used when you selected them
Always backup or justify your answer by supporting your choices. It has been noted in Module 1 by several of you that you cannot find the answer in the course material. Note that the solution is not addressed anywhere in the course that I know of. My understanding is that these questions are supposed to be thought provoking and they would be excellent topics for your Google group. This course does require a lot of thought and problem solving and that is because when you get out into the real world, every situation is different and as well as the technical knowledge one must be prepared to analyze, plan, be creative and think on your feet! Q3
As always in a case you should use the mark allocation to determine how much time you should spend on a case. It is fine to use point form or bullets to organize information when it is effective, by this I mean that it is not just a "laundry list" it needs to show how the criteria will be assessed, prioritized, selected, etc.
Please look under your course material, resources, how to analyze a case, there are several examples of cases and great tips for doing a case in all your CGA courses.
The goal of this course is to make you familiar enough to be able to answer these type of questions on the exam, so in a minimum of time!

Make sure that you look at the two practice exams

When addressing system performance, a key element that is often overlooked is Disk Fragmentation. Even on a brand new system with plenty of RAM and processing speed, the performance of the hard disk may be a bottleneck causing issues. It takes time to load large data files into memory - issues become particularly noticeable when dealing with movies, video clips, database files or image files which may easily be several gigabytes in size. On a freshly formatted disk, these files load fairly quickly. Over time, however you may start to notice performance issues - caused by disk fragmentation.…

The evolution of the Ethernet standards will have a large effect on data storage requirements. As the speeds of these connections continue to increase, users and businesses will be able to transfer larger files faster and will required larger data storage to accommodate the increased demand of resources. Thirty years ago, when the standard was only 10MB, there was nowhere near the need for the data storage capacity as there is today, with the current standard being 100 Gbit, with 1 Tbit on the way. Data storage wasn’t as high in demand before because it would take an extremely long amount of time to transfer large files, but as the speed increases, so will the demand.…

My name is Destiny Knott, my family and I have recently moved into a house overlooking the park in the neighborhood of Park Hall. I would like to draw your attention to some of the lewd and lascivious acts that take place daily in Park Hall. On many separate occasions up to several times a day, I have noticed from my window or front porch a crowd of undesirable individuals sitting on the benches. Numerous times these individuals have been seen drinking alcohol and carrying on very loudly, using the foulest kind of language. On another occasion my family and I have witnessed a violent fight occur right in front of the park where all of our children play. It is an outrage that our young innocent children should have to listen to and witness such inappropriate displays of behavior.…

    Case Study

Presenting a case to a teacher is same as presenting it in front of a jury. You need to have structured and solid arguments to convince the jury (teacher, in your case) and prove your point. If you are an excellent lawyer, you can even convince the jury that your defendant is not guilty even if he is (not ethical, of course). The bottom line is: you need to structure your case analysis. Although every case analysis more or less follows the same pattern; there is a slight variation depending on the nature of the case study. Basically there are two types of case studies: Open-ended and close-ended. Close-ended may have one or more questions at the end of the case for the reader to solve. Open-ended, on the contrast, may not contain any questions but require the reader to derive the problem statement and suggest a solution (thus, open). We will first look at the pattern for the Open-ended case type: Introduction / Overview. Although an optional part, it will give a professional look to your analysis. Overview would contain just 3-4 lines on what the case is about. Example: The case describes the situation of a sales manager Jim Howard whose company’s value statement claims to treat customers with dignity and respect; however, he finds that the exact opposite is being done. He wants to rectify the situation but is prevented by his boss. It basically illustrates how an employee is made helpless by his top management even when he has the power. Summary. Ideally, the summary should be 1/4th of the case. In general terms, it should be limited to one and a half page. The summary should contain very basic details of the case and shouldn’t include quotes and figures. Also, I’ve seen many students copying the exact same sentences from the case. Don’t do it. Trust me, it gives a very bad impression. Rephrase the sentences. SWOT Analysis. In case it’s a case about a company, list down the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the company in bullet…
