Msheireb Museums located in the Msheireb properties in downtown Doha. This museum is built over historic heritage houses which were renovated and converted into the museum. The aim of this museum is to “reveal unique aspects of Qatar’s cultural and social development and inspire to create trusted environments in which the people of Qatar will engage, converse, and exchange thoughts about both their past and their future” (Msheireb Museums booklet). This museum is divided among four historic houses and each house carries a significant story related to the history of Qatar. The four houses are namely - Bin Jelmood House, Company House, Radhwani House and Mohammed Bin Jassim House. All the four houses carry the foundation of old Qatari traditional architecture and forms. This house takes its audience back to the residential and business development that took place in Msheireb. Mohammed Bin Jassim House showcases the past of Msheireb as residential space, turning into a commercial district by bringing personal narratives of the people who lived here and had their business developed close to home. Due to the massive commercialization of this area most residents migrated to different areas within the country and this place turning into a commercial center. The collection on display for this house includes objects used in a shop such as weighing balance, cash register, store front name boards etc. There are reading panel describing the commercial development of Qatar and contribution of Msheireb in it.
