music
Music is one of the most important and powerful things in our life. Our life without melodies and harmonies would be totally empty. Listening to and playing different tunes helps us to de-stress, relax and it can also help to motivate us in trying times it is like the memoirs to our life as it has been there throughout everything with us. I believe music has the ability to convey all sorts of emotion. Whether the emotion is joy and happiness or sadness and despair through rhythms, harmonies and the lyrics music shows it. The effect that music can have on our emotions is tremendous, as it can bring people to floods of tears or bursts of laughter.
The musical images that music and song are able to create are amazing. Music has the ability to transport us back in time just like a time machine. It lets us revisit lost and forgotten moments in life. Songs can paint a picture, for example in classical and country music where a story is being told. The music in classical music tells a story without lyrics which is an immensely powerful thing. I feel that this applies to the saying “music imitates life and life imitates music”. I believe there is no better way to express ourself than through song. After a bad day, it’s nice to be able to sit down and listen to your favourite music. It really revitalize your mind.
I believe music effects people in many different ways. To me music is more than just something to listen to or play, it’s something to feel. Music is extremely important in our life. I think it brings us closer to our friends and family. I also feel that it helps us to get through things.

Pieper answers this question by quoting Schopenhauer, who claimed music, "does not speak of things but tells of weal and woe" (42). This makes sense because it relates to "man's good," and our yearning for perfect happiness. When listening to music certain emotions surface, as Plato stated, "Music imitates the impulses of the soul" (Pieper 45). Thus, to truly understand what we perceive when we listen to music, one must understand what is being expressed, and not simply "listen." For many, music can be an "out of body experience," something that truly reveal's man and his meaning in life. Some may argue that music is simply "…a means of personal enchantment, of escapism…" (Pieper 50). How one views and interprets music truly reveals one's character, because, "music lays bare man's inner existential condition," (Pieper 50).…

Dick Clark once said, ¨Music is the soundtrack of your life.¨ Music is one of the most powerful and influential things in my life. Without the melodies and harmonies of music, my life would feel bland and meaningless. I have a very busy schedule and sometimes it is too easy to lose meaning in my everyday tasks, but with music I am able to keep meaning in my life. I use music to get me through the activities of my everyday life. Whether it is cleaning my room, doing homework, or just relaxing, music makes everything better. I think that music can convey feelings and emotions extraordinarily well. When words cannot do the job, music can. Along with that, I think that music accompanies memories very well also. Going back to Dick Clark’s quote, I think I would be able to make a timeline of my life just using song titles, albums, and…

Music can bring out emotions and forgotten memories. Music serves as a powerful cue to recall emotional memories back into awareness. We all have a ton of emotions that control how we act and what we say. Our emotions are triggered by many things. One of those things is Music. At a funeral for one of my family members a song by Whitney Houston was played. Now it is long after that day, but my mother cannot listen to Whitney Houston, because it triggers her past feelings of loneliness and sadness. Music does not always bring out hurtful memories; it actually aids you in finding what is important to you as an individual. Two people can listen to the same song and can convey two entirely dissimilar statements. Humans need music to openly express their emotions, because without it, the world becomes so bleak and dull.…

Henry Purcell offered us sadness with minor keys and happiness with major keys. I really do not have much experience nor really understand keys but, I think Purcell’s uses of the minor and major keys makes since because minor means low and unimportant and that is how you feel when ever you are sad. While, major stands for important and significant and when the feeling of happiness domains your spirit, you feel on top of the world. I think it was very effective his technique of key usage to make the audience feel sad or happy. If you hear a low key you feel depress, low energy, and sad and when you hear a major key blasting thru the auditorium I am sure it inspires you, put you in a happy mood.…

Music influences people in different ways, for me it influenced my life by allowing me to realize that I can express myself through other people’s words. For instance, when I started seventh grade I heard a song called “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw. At first, when I heard this song I started to cry because I automatically heard my Dad’s voice apologizing for what happened. This song has influenced my life because it was always there for me when I needed a father’s reassurance. Music has always been there for me when no one was or when I needed advice to keep going. Music allows people to put their experiences in a song that makes sense to them. Music comes in different genres but they do the same thing, allow people to express themselves when it is hard for them to do that on their…

Music has always been a part of us ever since the begging of time. It’s been with us threw the happy, great times and also for the not so happy bad times. It can be a cheerful, carefree, joyful beat, to gloomy, mournful, blue beat, but not everyone has the same taste in music. Music it’s self is unbelievably stunning and so breathtaking.…
