My Ambition in Life
Aimless life is certainly a sin. Many people have no definite aim in life. They are like the travelers going a head without any destination. Such people lead an aimless life and what they do in life, is largely a matter of chance, determined by the circumstances in which they happen to be placed. Aimless people do not achieve any thing in life. They just live because they have to live.A man or woman without an ambition is really an unfortunate person because his life is just like a ship without a rudder. It is at the mercy of winds and will be tosses hither and thither aimlessly. As it does not have any set destination. It will reach nowhere. Without any set aim a person can achieve nothing in his life. One should have a definite purpose of life. The people who want success in life, first of all, determine their target. They keep before them their circumstances, their virtuous, their qualities, their talents and their ability to work. They select some definite target of their life and remain successful.Only having an ambition is not enough. A person should also work hard to achieve his ambition. There is no doubt if one makes vigorous efforts one is sure to achieve his aim in life sooner or later. Without making any efforts man cannot realize anything in life.

Different people have different aims in life. Some aim at wealth, some at power, some at fame, some at business and some at education and knowledge. My aim is neither wealth nor fame. I wish to serve by country with best of my talent. I love Pakistan and I really believe that every body should think to make it a really great country.

My ambition of life is to become a teacher. I do not want wealth. I do not want to lead the glamourous life of an actor. But I want to serve my country in a very humble capacity. Nearly 70% of the Pakistanis are illiterate. I want to educated my countrymen. I really feel that I can serve my fellomen best by becoming a teacher. This is inspite of the fact that teachers

A personal short term goal of mine is to stay active and not slack off on my physical health. Exercising is the most effective way to put myself into a positive mindset. By starting out small and constantly overcoming my laziness I start to lose my indolent habit. Becoming more productive helped me realize I sold myself short, by doubting my ability to pass my Advanced Placement English test. I went in with a negative aspect, questioning my ability to pass it. By telling myself I cannot do something, it discourages me from trying. Although I did not pass it, I am still challenging myself by taking AP Government and Macroeconomics this year. I plan to achieve this goal by allocating an hour on Sundays to review concepts that I learn in class.…

Morris Lurie My greatest ambition Summary The story is an autobiography about the narrator's life when he was a kid. A thirteen year old boy draws comics, and wants to become a comic-strip artist. He calls everybody in his class dreamers, and believes he is the only person who is not a dreamer. When he finishes his first comic he gets a tip from a friend, who tells him to send it to a magazine, which might publish it. So he sends his comic to the magazine, and is asked to make an appointment with Miss Gordon, to see the editor. A week later, he's in the train, counting down train stations in his small good suit. When he arrives, he sees a building which looks like a dull factory, not the impressive building with neon lamps, glass plates and a garden full of exotic plants he had expected. After being disappointed by the building, he met three men in grey suits (Boy magazines' editors) who seemed surprised and very nervous. They discussed the comic for some time, but the moment he had waited for (the job offer) never came. So he drew another comic, but it didn't get published. This was extremely disappointing, so he decided he didn't want to be a comic-strip artist anymore. He himself had now become a dreamer. Characters The boy (Mr.Lurie) Mr. Lurie (the narrator) •Young boy, 13 years old •Confident (his smile) •Smart •Has talent •Wants to be a comic strip artist Randell One of the three men of Boy Magazine •All of them wear grey suits •Stunned by the fact the boy is only 13 •Nervous Doesn't support Lurie, tells him he's a fool, he is only interested in the cheque. His Parents The father The Mother Very proud, does support him. Techniques used The story is an autobiography, and I think its main purpose is to entertain. It is written in first person. Imagery is used quite often, for example when he describes his good suit, or Boy Magazines' building. The author Morris Lurie is the author of this short story. He was born on the 30th of October 1938 in Melbourne,…

There is a saying, “Those who aim high, reach high”. It is indeed true. Without a clear-cut aim in life, life just drifts. It just floats-aimless, rudderless and not knowing where one is heading to. If we look into the lives of great men and women of our times, we see that they had clear- cut aims and well demarcated goals in life. Having clear-cut goals in life is the first step to success, because “Where there is a will, there is a way”.…
