When you have an assignment and skills to do, don’t never guess a skill, always ask your team member. Working on a manikin is completely different from a literal individual. Manikins cannot talk but an actual person answers. Feeding a patient is like feeding a baby because they don’t talk. Your patient should always come first because they need love and attention. Don’t ever be afraid of what you are doing have confidence. The nurse at the facility are very friendly and willing to assist you with anything you need. Remember not to take instructions from the NAs that are not in your scope of practice because this can put your school and instructor at a high rick. Take control of what you learned and put it into practice. My first day of clinical was great. Feeding patient, bed bath (complete and partial), dress and undress, repositioning, and especially brief change wow wow wow BRIEF CHANGE. The smell of it is very, very bad because the patient doesn’t get changed on time. It leaves in your nose when you get home and don’t even want to eat. You have to work with it, though. When I see the patients and how they are being treated I don’t want my mother nor father to be in a nursing
