My College Life
My College Life

I have started my college life in Matriculation College Negeri Sembilan for a few months. All that I can say is awesome! I feel blessed that I could enter the college. The one and only purpose for most of the students who are under the matriculation programme is to get into their high-ranked university, especially for science stream students. Most of the parents hope their children could be offered a place under the programme because they strongly believe that their children can get courses that they really want in the short period of one year. Most of the outsiders repute that the life in Matriculation College is easy. But then, now I deny the view, my college life is somehow trying.
As the programme is short, students have to armed the ability to cope with the long syllabus for each subject. No more hoping a helping hand from others, students have to be initiative. For example, If you cannot solve any mathematics problem, you can look for your lecturer in the mathematic unit. Students are mostly welcomed and the lecturer will be glad to deliver the methods. It is advisable that students should have solve the problem immediately once they have any question. Adaptation to a new environment is also a challenge for matriculation students. The first week in the college, I cried for almost everyday. The symtoms that students normally have: homesick, not independent and feeling loneliness. It will be find after some period of time when students getting familiar at there. Communicating skills is very important too. Students should know how to mix with people from different races. Language is the vital tool for communication, such as Bahasa Melayu. It is the main language used in matriculation college. Practice makes perfect, speaking English everyday improve your English usage as well. Futhermore, compact scheduled during weekdays make students have to keep on with nervous ryhthem. Students rush for classes from 8am till 5pm.

College is unfamiliar territory to individuals of my age. I have friends and family members who have been through it, yet everyone’s experience is completely diverse. Nevertheless, there is one statement that is habitually received amongst many when they talk about their college experience: “College is the best four years of your life, so be sure to make the most of it.” That is unerringly what I plan to accomplish with my four years at the University of Louisville. I want it to be memorable.…

You go from being in a place where you are totally comfortable to being in a new place full of new people you have yet to get to know. And for every single freshman, it’s especially harder for any number of personal reasons. As I got closer to my JAs and my entrymates, I began to overcome my insecurity and learned that I could and did belong at Williams. I want to be a JA because I want to give a group of freshman the same support and confidence that my JAs instilled in me. I want to be able to work with a group of my peers and my…

We liked the same things, hung out with the same people, and played on the same sports teams. We did everything together. Hi Mom and Dad! How have you been doing? Sorry i haven't been able to write to you in a while, I've been so busy with school. I was really nervous about going to college so far away from here I love Aurora College. I was really surprised with how cold it is in Inuvik, NT but I guess it makes sense considering i’m in the Southern Arctic ecozone. Around here the average temperature is -28°C in the winter and 10℃ in the summer which really sucks since the winters are really long and summers are short. There is a lot of things to do here like skiing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling. I learned that the southern arctic was once covered with glacier, but when they moved south, they carried rocks and earth with them and scraped the land and that's why…

Somewhere along Interstate 95 south, I had my movie moment. At 2:00 AM nothing matters but sleep. So when a friend of mine shook me awake as our coach bus “La Cubana” passed through Washington D.C, my mind was elsewhere. Until I opened my eyes, my body was filled with instant annoyance at her. The moment I did open them though, I was greeted by my peer’s awestruck faces at the sight that lay before them. The air around me had suddenly transformed to remedy making me whole. I had never been to Washington D.C.; just seen pictures online or in history textbooks. But being there and seeing how grand and beautiful the Washington and Jefferson Memorial were took my breath away.…

I wanted to share some thoughts with my network as I transition from the military as these ideas are fresh in my mind, and I have ample time to reflect on as this chapter of my life as it concludes. Many service members like myself start their military careers without definitive direction on if their career goals are going to be either short or long term. I was the indecisive Airman, and there are thousands of servicemembers now who are as I once was. And during my transition hiring managers and recruiters have made me feel that my search of where I belong to my organization has impacted my transition to the civilian sector. I didn't start off with ambitious goals; I wanted to master my craft before I could visualize future roles and ranks, and even while learning my role as an…
