Personal Narrative: My Trip To College
Hi Mom and Dad! How have you been doing? Sorry i haven't been able to write to you in a while, I've been so busy with school. I was really nervous about going to college so far away from here I love Aurora College. I was really surprised with how cold it is in Inuvik, NT but I guess it makes sense considering i’m in the Southern Arctic ecozone. Around here the average temperature is -28°C in the winter and 10℃ in the summer which really sucks since the winters are really long and summers are short. There is a lot of things to do here like skiing, ice fishing, and snowmobiling. I learned that the southern arctic was once covered with glacier, but when they moved south, they carried rocks and earth with them and scraped the land and that's why
there's so much exposed bedrock. Inuvik is in the tundra vegetation region, and there aren’t a lot of trees, and a lot of the plants are shrubs because the soil here is tundra soil. Also, there isn't too much soil since permafrost and granite bedrock cover most of the land. I can’t wait until you guys come visit! When you do, you'll see for yourselves how amazing this place is.
