Beauty.” I enjoyed writing this essay because I loved doing research, and I am so passionate on my beliefs with this topic. I found all of the research to be extremely interesting. This essay was easier for me to write than the others because I was able to back my points up with factual evidence. My least favorite essay to write was the definition essay. My struggle started at the beginning of the writing process when I could not choose a topic. Since I chose my topic late, I was rushed while writing. I believe that because of that I was not able to produce a solid essay. Thankfully, I handled my time more wisely while writing my final draft. Looking back on the course, I realized that each of the five essays taught me a specific skill that made me a stronger writer. One of my favorite parts of the writing process was peer response. I found peer response extremely helpful in developing my essays. My classmates always provided great feedback, and I know they cared about helping me develop as a writer. Not only that, but I also loved reading my peer’s essays. It was interesting and beneficial to see how my classmates used the writing process and to see their different writing styles. Reading their essays always provided me with insight on how to better my own. One thing I am so thankful to have improved on throughout this class is my grammar skills. Before I entered this class, I believed that I was a expert at grammar, but I quickly realized I was not. The grammar lessons and quizzes helped me to learn and retain the information. I feel very prepared to tackle college-level writing next year. I know I will be in a different atmosphere and surrounded by different individuals, but I believe that this class has given me the strength and ability to take on a college writing class. That being said, I want to continue developing my skills and I think I will be able to do so by having my peers read over my essays. I know that heading into college I will still make tiny errors in my writing. It would be extremely nice to have an individual willing to look over my essay and give me feedback. Overall, College Composition I has taught me so much. Set aside the knowledge I have gained on writing and grammar, but I have learned how to manage my time more wisely which will help me in all areas of my education. While writing my essays, I learned to enjoy adding my heart and personal stories into my essays. I found that they became more enjoyable to write once I added a bit of myself into them. I loved finding ways to connect my essays to my own life. All in all, I am very thankful that I was able to take this class while still in high school. I am confident that I will apply my newfound knowledge throughout the rest of my life.
