For the past 11 months, I have had the privilege of working as a Health Care Support Worker in a clinical setting on an outpatient Gynecology clinic. During this time, I feel I have grown as a person both academically and in confidence. I have had the opportunity to carry out extended roles such as the responsibility of being an Infection Prevention Control link nurse. I have cultivated lovely relationships with these patients and realised more during my time with the elderly that I love to communicate, listen and have empathy for others. I enjoy spending time in their company and I want to learn the skills to really be able to make a difference.
I am a caring, organised, hardworking and conscientious person who always strives to do my best in any given situation, even when faced with the massive pressures in health care today. I am a good team player, forming strong bonds with my work colleagues but I am also able to work independently when necessary. I am now at the point in my career where I have realised my true passion for nursing and would love the opportunity to specialise in Adult nursing and make it my vocation.
I feel it is important to relax in my spare time and reflect on what's happened in the day, as I know that when I qualify this will be even more important as being a nurse can be stressful and emotionally challenging.
