My goal has gotten more specific and my new goal is to earn a 3.5 GPA by the end of my second semester in order to be inducted into the Spelman chapter of the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Whenever I go to presentations led by an employee of a company discussing internships that their company offers, the employee never fails to mention that they prefer applicants with a competitive GPA, and that GPA is always a 3.5 or above. With a 3.5 GPA, I am considered a competitive applicant for internships and for some graduate schools, even though the latter comes much later. Having a 3.5 GPA gives me the freedom to be able to apply to any program that I would like simply because my GPA is high enough. My plan to reach my goal is comparable to my first reflection paper. I plan to continue using Spelman’s academic resources like the Math Lab and Writing Center, but next semester, I plan on building more concrete bonds with my professors. This semester I realized the importance of visiting your professor’s office during office hours in order for the professor to see that you actually care about their class. Also, when having trouble with a certain aspect of a class, it is best to go directly to the source and ask my professor any questions that I may have in order to erase any confusion. By going to my professors consistently during office hours, I will be able to build a relationship with my professor which gives myself a better understanding of the professor’s expectations in the class. With my understanding, I will know how to perform well in that class which will reflect in my grade for that
