An example I can think of is how when we did introductions in class people said that their favorite food was Mexican food, but when they named places they were places that are tex-mex in my eyes. In honesty it bothered me because it’s not real Mexican food and I do not find it okay to call it, they are probably not aware that it does. But I do wish they would knowledge themselves in the differences because they have complete different taste and plates. I fear speaking about things like this sometimes because I do not want people to think I am rude, since they are of a different race. Most of all it’s the impact I fear it would cause on people interacted with me because of it.
