My Experience That Led Me To The RN-BSN Program
Having completed nursing education was all in pursuit of a greater cause in helping others and Bellevue College’s RN-BSN program is somewhere I believe to continue it. Before realizing this pursuit, I had my own predicament to face, something I believe to be a curse and a gift. After doing so I sought out to volunteer at a nearby hospital to learn more what I was chasing for. One experience that has shaped me as a person is my specific learning disability. This disability was diagnosed to me when I was a child in early elementary school. Due to this, I was unable to learn information at the same rate compared to a normal person. As a result, I was held back a year in my elementary years. Over time I’ve adapted to it with the help of the school’s …show more content…
This challenge can be best illustrated with an analogy. If a choice was given to cut a lawn with a lawn mower or scythe, most people would choose the lawn mower. Even the thought of choosing the scythe would be daunting. In my case I am unable to use the lawn mower and I am stuck with the scythe. This is what I have been given in terms of learning new information. However, over time I have refined my skills in my studies to use of many methods to be successful. One simple and effective way approaching this challenge is first the encounter of new information. If my way of studying is not effective, I would need to step back and make my assessments to see why it was not working and how I can change this to suit it better to my play field. Once done, I would re-engage in the studies and repeat if necessary. The time usage however is extensive which has not changed since then. But this has given me the chance to appreciate the amount of time taken to mold this knowledge and prepare it for future uses when ready. Over time I gained these attributes of patience and exceptional work ethic. These attributes have given me insight and helped me see things to completion. I hope others around take the time to enjoy whatever they are doing or as the saying goes, to bear fruits of their
