My Favourite Toy
My favourite toy

Childhood memories are the best and most precious for everyone. I can still remember the most important things from my girlhood - my friends, the first travels, young parents, the first songs and favorite toys! Unfortunately I don't have them any longer, but my memory sometimes brings them back and I return to these peaceful and happy moments in my life.

Now, after so many years I can clearly remember my experimenting with the Lego constructor. I used to assemble, no - create, a lot of fascinating things! It is only now that I understand how wise my parents were to give me the presents of various Lego sets.

This toy is one of the most mind-blowing and interesting child games. The constructor lego is one of the games for children which are not only an entertainment but also education. The process of creating different impossible structures was absolutely useful for devoloping my imagination and creative thinking. Constructor lego is designed so that its parts can be connected in many ways, inventing each time a variety of designs. You can build pirate ships and knights castles, play ambulance, police, fire brigade and thus to learn the world around you and show imagination and create everything by yourselfself.

Certainly, I was only a child and couldn't boast of having the engineering thinking! I used the Lego parts in the most unpredictable ways absolutely ignoring all the laws of physics and geometry. I was able to create my own imaginary world inhabiting it with those creatures and structures which were clear only to me. How excited I was! I felt so proud and always showed my creative works to my parents who never criticised me but always encouraged to carry on designing something absolutely new and different.

The Lego constructor is the most evocative toy of my childhood. It helped to develop my creative thinking and imagination. I am happy that nowadays children are able to play with more advanced and

Founded and developed by Stanford graduate Debbie Sterling in 2012, Goldieblox has made it its main purpose to “get girls building”. By tapping into girl’s imaginations and creative thinking by using stories and construction sets, Goldieblox wants to give girls the confidence and boost they need to “disrupt the pink aisle” and inspire a future generation of female engineers. Better said by Sterling: “My head literally started spinning and I was so disappointed there weren’t things that would inspire girls to use their brains. The girl aisle was kind of about how to be pretty and I wanted to put something in there that girls can see that they too could find a passion in engineering and that they too could find these subjects fun.” (Vega, 2014) Goldieblox is a set of toys in the form of kits, which is then accompanied with storytelling in order to establish a connection with the act of building. There are currently three construction kits out for purchase: Goldieblox and the Spinning Machine, Goldieblox and the Parade Float, and Goldieblox and the Dunk Tank. Each kit is individually unique with different stories, design ideas, building possibilities, and accompanied parts all focusing on building spatial skills, engineering principles, and a confidence in problem-solving.…

The political scope of the 1910s also defined the growth of German nationalism and military power, which began to become realized in potential invasions of Belgium and the Austria-Hungary territorial disputes. Of course, the rise of German industrialization had allowed the formation of a world-class naval fleet, and the continued threat of military power in Germany throughout Europe. By this time, Wilhelm II was able to act as a more aggressive political figure in the quest to gain territorial expansion into Hungary and Belgium. This type of political hostility defined the underlying fears of British and France concerns about an invasion. The military might of Germany was not a major part of the political tensions surrounding the assassination…

There are a lot of documentaries out there today that discuss some important achievements, events, people, or even disasters that have occurred in history throughout the world, but I would have never thought that there would be one that talked about one of my favorite childhood toys, LEGOs. The documentary started off giving a brief history of LEGOs and what exactly they were, but then showed how it was more than just a couple of bricks. I liked this because it showed that LEGOs have been apart of the world’s history and it even continues to help us advance our civilizations and our knowledge of the universe by influencing them to build and create new things. I think that this documentary is one of the best documentaries that I have seen. I…

From the age of two, I could construct Legos by looking only at the picture on the box; instructions were not always necessary. I knew early on that I had a passion for that type of work. Even when I wasn’t using Legos or building blocks, I was constantly examining everyday items to try to figure out how they worked. I would occasionally take electronic devices apart, to the dismay of my parents, to look at the inner pieces and try to picture how they would worked. Although putting them back together was occasionally a challenge, I was able to teach myself about a passion that I would later explore in life.…
