My First Visit to New York City
My First Visit to New York City
Few years before, I visited New York City for the first time, so before I went there, I studied a travel guide for a long time.
My cousin told me New York City is a beautiful city, especially during the Christmas season. She said I would see Christmas decorations everywhere. Therefore, I said to myself that I had to visit the city during the Christmas season.
My cousin lives in Long Island City, so when I left from there to go to downtown Manhattan, I took an MIA bus and then transferred to the subway. It took me almost two hours, but I'll never forget the moment when I first stepped up from the subway into Manhattan.
I enjoyed my first time window shopping at Fifth Avenue because it was Christmas. I saw a huge Christmas tree with lights all over it. It is very cold in New York in December, but when I saw the Christmas tree with lights all around it, it made me feel warmer.
If you want, you can ride a horse and buggy; it will take you all around New York City. This is a really beautiful city tour, especially at night. I will never forget it.
In front of the Christmas tree, there was an enormous statue and an ice skating square. Everyone was enjoying themselves while they were ice skating, and no one said they were feeling cold right then; I thought they looked gleeful. I think everybody was excited about waiting for Christmas.
My cousin and I waited for a day when the weather was getting warmer, and then we took a boat to go and visit the Statue of Liberty. We were very excited even though the weather was still cold.
We couldn't wait to see the Statue of Liberty. We stood under the blue sky, looking up at the kind face of the Statue and enjoying our visit
When we went to the top of the Statue...Wow! It was beautiful. We saw the buildings of downtown Manhattana and a dreamy view. It made me feel, free, happy, and gleeful. From the top of the Statue of Liberty, the other people below were just like ants; they were so small I

Going onto the bridge from the Brooklyn side during a sunset maybe the most breathtaking thing you can do and the most breathtaking sight to see in New York city. The view of the sky scrapers of lower Manhattan competing in height across that sky as the sunset is occurring, gives u a sense of freedom sand luck to be living in this country. The towering height of the new freedom tower paints the background of the bridge like a painting of the future. Mayakovsky and Mumford were utterly socked and amazed at the site they saw but I 'm sure this site was nothing possibly imaginable for them. After reading the poems of these two writers I was able to fixate my mind on the little things to appreciate as you cross the bridge. The beauty of this bridge that not many people have the luxury to cross every day. The beautiful architecture and the time the spent to build the cable wires and stone walls. The little things as the Statue if Liberty and the sunset behind the buildings in the crisp water are many thing that make this city such a joy to live in ad Mumford and Mayakovsky reiterate that and convince young people that this bridge is indeed an integral art of history and art of the future. As an alternative, walking across this bridge and encountering the people full of life and the people on the bicycles happy, wile you witness the ferries and boats and city…

I don’t travel very much at all but my parents managed to send me on the trip as a kind of graduation gift, a great traveling experience and the sightseeing part of the trip was amazing. We went toured all over the city, went to see plays, and visited a lot of famous places. I had only seen New York on TV or in pictures but I loved being able to actually go there. Just watching TV or seeing pictures on a screen cannot compare at all to actually standing at the top of the Rockefeller Center and being able to see all of Manhattan and the surrounding area as far as you can see, the same can be said about Times Square. Going to these two places were some of my favorite things that we did, along with seeing the Blue Man Group, going to Chinatown, and walking up and down Fifth Avenue. I had a great time actually being able to see and experience everything for myself, but there are more reasons as to why I loved that trip so much.…

Every time I read these words, they resonate with me more and more. The Statue of Liberty is the single most iconic symbol of everything America stands for, and has stood for, over the last 240 years, and while its structure still holds, its sheen is gone. It’s rusted, cracks and crevices forming in its construction. The freedoms our forefathers fought for in the days when America was still a fledgling experiment are just as important today as they were in 1776, yet they’re often pushed aside. They’re broken down, corroded and chipped.…

When my family and I were on vacation in Connecticut we decided to go the New York City. We got up in the morning and drove to the train station. We rode the train into Grand Central Station, it was very beautiful. The ceiling in the station was high and there was loads of light coming in from the windows. After we arrived at the station we walked to the Natural History Museum. We looked at all the exhibits, they were amazing and very interesting. Then we went to Central park and walked around for two miles. My family and I went to this pond in Central park that had a ton of turtles popping in and out of the water. Finally my family and I went to Times Square, it was absolutely amazing! The bright billboards were extremely cool! We walked around…

As we got closer to the Statue of Liberty on the ferry ride to Liberty Island the information-heavy speech that blared from the overhead speakers explained, that the statue was the first thing immigrants would see when approaching the island. New York City, one of the world’s most vibrant cities, has one of the biggest public transportation systems of North America. Everyday hundreds of thousands people enter this city as workers or as tourists. New York City has excellent connectivity to all of its neighboring states: New Jersey, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. Every section of Manhattan, the heart of New York City, is easily accessible via public transit. Subway trains and buses traverse though the city 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. The subway system started more than 100 years ago and since then, it has been continuously updated and renovated: new lines and technical updates like ticket vending machines, automatic signals and expansions and new connectivity to other trains continue. Although other U. S. metropolitan cities such as Boston, Los Angles, and Washington, DC, also have large mass transit systems, New York City’s mass transit system is the biggest among them all. It includes trains, buses and ferries connecting Manhattan to the other four boroughs (Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island) and to the neighboring areas via MTA subway trains and buses. Connection is also available through NJ transit trains and buses, Long Island Rail Road trains, and Metro North trains. The other modes of transportation include Amtrak train, Staten Island and additional ferries, and bus services that connect the New York City to far flung cities and towns.…

In New York the transportation was ran by a Omnibus. The Omnibus was ran by a horse-drawn carriage. The horse ran along a fixed route. The Omnibus was meant to seat fifteen passengers. There would often be more room with cramped people. The driver stopped when the people tugged on the strap around his ankle. The other New York transportation that was used was the Horsecars. Horsecars rode along Embedded iron or steel tracks. It was hard for the horses to go up hilly streets and to carry all of the people.…
