My Grandmother
My Grandmother
Growing up, the person who has affected many the most is my grandmother. Hazeline is my true inspiration. My grandmother has been my biggest supporter in everything that I have done in my life. Hazeline, is the one who we call “the rock” of our family she keeps the family together when things aren’t easy. She knows exactly how to make us all laugh when we’re not having an amazing day. She is overall a great person. People value her a lot with all the wisdom she gives them, the things that she does for others, and people also value, just her presence because most people my age don’t know their grandparent(s). There are three characteristics that describes her, such as: strong, motivational, and loveable.
First of all, my grandmother is the strongest person that others know. She has been through a lot of things from in her past until now; such as, dealing with the lost of her husband, raising her own children, grandchildren and great- grandma by herself, and being sick is a lot. Hazeline is strong because she is who keeps the family together. She always keeps her head up high no matter how much negative things get. Without my grandmother, honestly don’t know what they would do without Hazeline. Hazeline has helped and saved a lot of people today. Most family or people wouldn’t be who they are today. She is a phenomenal woman. You would never know that Hazeline could be going through a lot but can never tell if she is okay or not.
Secondly, Hazeline can make anyone’s day brighter just by motivating others and just by smiling. She will go out of her way to help you with whatever you need. She is the type of person who you can go to, even if it is just need to talk or just to get a hug. My grandmother has seen me at my best and at my worst. She has been there for me when my mom was working two to three jobs to pay the bills and keep food in the house for me and my grandmother. No matter what’s going on or how hard life can get my grandmother knows

The decisions made in McCulloch v. Maryland recognized and explained to the United States the nation’s need for a strong central government. After fighting in the War of 1812, the United States of America experienced a significant amount of disarray and difficulty without a bank to supervise the country’s finances and to provide a reliable institution that the population could depend on amidst all the chaos. Alexander Hamilton’s idea of a national bank would serve the purpose of providing one common institution that could help the entire country through its difficult times, but first the federal government needed to exercise supreme power over the state governments in order to ever possibly complete that task. While the federal government and…

I am her oldest child. I remember that young woman with a quick temper who could yell when she needed to. Now having my own children, I know that no one sees your worst sides like your children do. But I also watched her change, with the death of her own parents when she was in her 20’s, through the loss of a son, and through her battles with cancer. With each sorrow, mum grew in wisdom and strength, she reached out in ways that I am only still becoming aware of. She spoke with other mothers who lost sons and daughters, she knew the pain, she knew how awful that could be, and she knew how to comfort, hug, and cry with those who had lost one of their own. Through that loss she gained a different perspective on being a mother. She learned that love speaks louder than anger and that some things are not worth the fight. It’s a grandmother’s wisdom – and I hope and pray that I listened enough to take those lessons so hard learned to heart. When mum and dad found out last year that the cancer was terminal, that the cancer that we had hoped, prayed and believed was defeated had come back. She knew where she was going, and that she would see Wilder, my brother, again. That she would fight as hard as she…

Sydnie is someone who was always there for me, and someone I can trust. I can count on Sydnie for advice on anything from school to life. She is someone who is always there for you. Sydnie is also a phenomenal Christian. She is a good influence, and I have learned valuable lessons from her about faith, and she is someone who builds up everyone around her. Sydnie has worked with an organization called Revive which her dad also works with on many occasions. She has shared the gospel with people, and she works to bring people to Christ. She has said that she wants to become a missionary to Madagascar. I would say without any doubt that Sydnie shows her faith through action more than anyone in my grade, and possibly in the school. At the end of the year, when we had to vote on Spiritual Awards, some of my classmates and I agreed that Sydnie could win all of them. I learned from Sydnie to be more bold about my faith, and to do my best in everything. The most meaningful impact Sydnie had on me however, was being a good influence, and reminding me through her character that I need to be a good influence. I have realized that I need to work better on displaying the Fruit of the Spirit in my life. Sydnie understands that if people just remember you for being good at athletics, school, or achievements you’ve made, you didn’t do your job. The most important thing to be remembered for is good character, and remembered as a good person. Overall, Sydnie is someone who is able to show her faith through her actions every day, and is a positive…

She has a charisma that makes others feel better about themselves, making it easy for people to put their trust and her and look up to her. Anything that my grandmother commits herself to, she will see it out to the end. She’s a person that is persistent in achieving the goals she set without be conniving or deceiving, my grandmother believes that doing something the right way is the only way to do it. She always uses the phrase, “If you use shortcuts in life you will get cut short”. That phrase has stuck with me until this day and so have the morals and values she’s instilled in me. When I feel like things are caving in around me and I can no longer go forward or excel in things I’m doing it, I call my grandmother for support and inspiration. She always makes me feel like giving up isn’t an option. She also has taught me to not treat all people with kindness and respect, even people who has tried and tried to throw obstacles on my pathway to success. I believe for a person to treat people with something they have never treated them with takes a lot of humbleness and lack of pride.…

My name is Lucinda Wilson; I am a 26 year old single mother raising three beautiful children. Their names are Kaleel Wilson (8), Samiya Wilson (6), and Xavier Wilson (5); they are the loves of my life. If I had to identify someone who made a significant influence in my life, it would be my mother, Ms. Vernell Scott Wilson. My mother has had twelve children and I am the eighth child. When I was young I watched my mother struggle to take care of all her kids. If that left her without, and she made sure that her children were secured. On September 22, 1989, we had a terrible tragedy happen to our family. On that day in which was twenty-three years ago we lost our father in one of the most horrible storms to hit Lee County; Hurricane Hugo. My father went to our mobile home to get my brothers, after that was done he went back for a reason we never knew. He was electrocuted and he passed on that night. At the time my mom was in the hospital about to give birth to one of my youngest sisters. During that time I was only three years old, so I didn’t understand it then, but even now to this day all I know is that my father is gone. My mother has been a strong woman because she had to deal with that, and not only that, she had eleven kids left to raise alone. My mother never gave up on us, no matter how bad, destructive, and hard headed we were. My mother has a major influence in my life in so many ways. From things she went through in life, I’ve learned to never give up, trust in God, and be good at whatever it is that you put your mind to do. She taught me to don’t settle for the less, but always do your best. From her being a mother that has raised twelve kids alone she showed me that I can do it with three. There were so many times when I told my mom that I wanted to give up. She would look at me and say, “I didn’t give up on you”, that was enough for me to keep pushing and saying I can do this. There is this one scripture in the bible that sticks with me…

The reason I choose mama miller as a person that inspires me is because in 2008 when my mother was admitted into the hospital because of her burst intestines throughout the entire and hardest time of my life miller showed compassion. She did not really know my mother at all but in hearing the news you could see the sense of care that came upon her. Even after my mother was out of the hospital she continued to ask if she was ok or even how she was. I found that as a person that had no relation to someone but could care so much had a heart of gold. Her impact in my life comes not only from her warm heart but from her motivational conducts. She was my coach and teacher. She helped me build my leadership skills throughout high school and because of that I can say that I applied what I learned to my life today and that has so far led me to success and seeing a bright future ahead. I can go on and on but in all my words would be Thank you mama miller.…
