My Hobby
My Favourite Hobby
My favourite hobby is reading. I enjoy reading a book when I am free. I started to do it when I was four years old. I was happy when I read a story with a happy ending. I was thrilled when I read a detective story.
I enjoy reading because I like to explore the imaginative world of my favourite author, J.K.Rowling who writes “ Harry Potter” . There are a lot of advantages of reading.
Reading can make me relaxed and calm. I can also learn new vocabulary items. Then I can further improve my English. Moreover, it can give me an unlimited imagination, so I can write books in the future.
Also I can learn the different cultures and customs of other countries in the world.
I read at least one hour every day. I read books by myself. I usually read it at home. I wish I could read different kinds of books because it might be verychallenging. I have a membership in the library. That helps me to get a lot of books. Reading enables me to learn about so many things that I would otherwise not know. Books provide the reader with so much information and facts. They have certainly helped me in my daily life. I am better equipped to cope with living. Otherwise I would go about ignorantly learning things the hard way. . I now read story books, magazines, newspapers and any kind of material that I find

Although there is much I can’t recall from my early days of reading, there are some momentous flashbacks. When I was beginning elementary school my parents were very eager to introduce me to doing a great deal of reading, they wanted me to enjoy reading for a while and they succeeded. We lived within walking distance of the public library which allowed us to frequently visit the library to read and check out books. I always remembered the vast shelves of books that seemed like they never had an end. In addition to reading at the library we checked books out to bring home to read, this allowed me to read as much as I wanted to. Correspondent to the amount of reading I did, the more I enjoyed it and improved at reading.…

And to be honest with you, I haven’t read a single book outside school in years. The last time I did, I was in elementary school and read a book around 200 pages long. It was awfully boring to me. Sitting silently with a book in my hands for just a few minutes sounded terrible. Instead I used my time playing football and video games.…

The more it went on the more I hated reading altogether! But that all changed when my 12th-grade teacher Mrs. Becker taught me to read books that interest you and will teach you something, “we won't be having any class book, it's up to you.” It was great reading books that made me comfortable to read again. Books that I really had an interest in, that were fun to read. That actually makes doing work on them easy and fun to do.…

I love to read because of my mother. When I was young I disliked reading and preferred to watch movies instead. To get me to enjoy reading my mother would read stories to me and I would read along with her. One day my mother read only classic books from our houses to San Antonio, Texas. We read Little women, Great Expectations, Treasure Island, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Ten Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, plus more. I remember how her voice made the words on the pages come to life. She would very her tone for each character and made each one unique. It was like watching a one man play. I soon wanted to read the stories by myself because I was always in a rush to know the ending; reading to myself was faster than my mother reading aloud to me. Every time I read I can still…

Credit must be given to my parents and grandmother for my love of reading. Ever since I was a youngster I can remember them with a book in their hands. “How come you always read?”, I would ask. They would smile and explain to me that reading makes you smarter and opens your imagination to a whole new world. This statement drove me to find my first real novel to explore.…

At a very young age, I found my love for reading. I learned to read at age three, and I read to myself nightly ever since I went into preschool. My reading level progressed very quickly. I loved the feeling of being able to finish a challenging book on my own at that age. Going into preschool, I can remember being one of the only kids who could read, so clearly, I felt like I should show off my skills to the other preschoolers. After preschool, I was thrilled to go to kindergarten so everyone in my class would…

I grew up on a ranch outside of a small town, and as a result, I am more comfortable when not around people. However, I had almost unrestricted access to books and would read as often as I could. My mom recalls when I was only two years old I would stand on the couch and recite my ABC’s, and always beg her to read to me. By the time I was three years old, I could read children’s’ books by myself, and by the time I was in kindergarten, I would read third grade books. By the time I was in the third grade, I had read all of the books in the school library and…
