since I enjoy working with others. Physical therapy assistants work with different patients all day long. I would assist my patients with rehabilitative activities to help reduce pain and improve mobility, I will assist them by providing a demonstration of the exercise, and give instruction on how to properly do the exercise. I enjoy dealing with the body mechanics, such as muscles.
I can help someone improve their coordination and balance by helping him/her balance using parallel bars with me standing right behind him/her, the patient will shift the weight between the right and left legs in a swaying motion. I'll help him/her improve muscle strength by standing in front of him/her, both of us are using a 5 lb. or 10 lb. weight and moving it parallel with our body up and down, increasing our strength and endurance. I'll provide a demonstration for him/her how to hold onto the parallel bars shifting the weight side to side, from front to back, while standing in front of him/her. I would not like to supervise anyone, however supervision isn't a possible position in this field, especially if you're an assistant. This particular career includes a set schedule and certain hours, most therapists generally work a day shift from 8 am - 5 pm. The characteristic I'd need to work on is patience, I've got to be honest, I am a bit impatient at times, I'm working on it. Being a physical therapy assistant you must be a caring, mature, patient, and a helpful person if you're not, then this field probably isn't the best choice for someone without those
qualities. Overall, I believe that I can do this type of work, because I love helping others, meeting new people, and I have the qualities needed to enable me to succeed in this profession. My qualities are helpfulness, kindness, trustworthiness, and maturity. I feel that I'll be successful in this career, people who love their job tend to be great employees. One interesting fact is that physical therapy assistants get to work with mainly how the body mechanics work.
