My current Platoon Sergeant is by far the best leader I have encountered in my whole career. He influenced the Army as a whole by going to recruiter school to be successful and new Soldiers will remember him for life. Attending schools set him apart from his peers and he contributes all his success to the Army. He is very competent in his job and passes his knowledge down to the lowest rank. His competency affects the Army because he can lead Soldiers and the impact is soldiers applying his knowledge and everyone accomplishing the mission with high results. He constantly communicates with the whole Company of what needs accomplished daily with clear guidance. My leader sets all Soldiers up for success by sending them …show more content…
to schools and classes that increases high level of knowledge and performance. Completing schools helped the students in the organization be more effective in class and for long term. He looks at your strengths and weaknesses and addresses it on the spot by letting you know how to improve yourself overall and how to maintain the strengths you have. When I arrived to Fort Huachuca my new boss informed me about his vision and the way forward. He has changed the organization for the better by letting all the leaders know his vision and the leaders applying it.
The true meaning of a professional describes my boss as a whole. He shows up to work first and he is the last one to go home for the day. Bravo Company Commander verbally commended my Platoon Sergeant for setting high standards within the organization. My leader contributed to my personal growth by sending me to school for self-improvement. He counseled me letting me know schools will improve my unit when it is applied. The impact of attending schools is I applied the knowledge in class and the students showed better results on exams. In the short period, working with this organization my boss he has changed me by giving me knowledge and making me a better leader. I want to strive to be like him and pass on his style of leadership to my future Soldiers. I will do this by watching and learning his leadership style and applying it with the Soldiers at the schoolhouse. I want to be able to do a right seat with my boss and ask him many questions about how he became the leader he is now. I will take what I learn and practice so I become a better Leader like him. I want to pass on all his good traits to all my Soldiers I teach and when it is time for me to leave the unit, every Soldier will remember all the positive mentorship I provided that will carry on with them through their whole careers.
I like to learn from all my Leaders to be well rounded. I train new students in the schoolhouse to give them the basics to be successful students to graduate. I know not all students will graduate because it is up to the student to take the tools we give them and apply it. I work with students when they have problems understanding the lesson taught to make sure I answer all questions before moving on. I spend time during study hall to do extra teaching to make sure the students that are struggling understand the lessons. I have to take my lunchtime in order to help during study hall, which shows I care. I do not like to be the person who shuts down a student and tells them to go away because that will just leave the student with no guidance.
I know that I need to learn more from my senior leaders and peers in order to be the best senior leader I can in the future.
Soldiers are very important for me to do my job. I want to lead from the front and set the example of what right looks like and to make sure Soldiers train to the fullest. I will be an Instructor for the next year before I retire and do not want to be the leader who quits early and leaves a Soldier on the sideline.
In summary, my leader contributes a lot to the Army and the organization. My leader contributed to my leader growth and development as a better leader. He not only sets high standards for the whole company he reinforces the standards constantly. He has good communication skills, both verbally and digitally, to keep all Soldiers aware of the tasks needed accomplished. All Soldiers accomplished his tasks with great results in a timely manner. I want to be just like my mentor and apply what I learn from him to pass on to my future students in the schoolhouse that they can remember long
term.
