My Legacy
My three going on four years at Hillside High has easily been the best years of my life. I have made lifelong friends and relationships I will never forget. The relationships I have made with my teachers, classmates, teammates, administrators, and coaches are ones will stay connected to well beyond high school and my collegiate years. The legacy I am leaving behind at my high school is one filled with perseverance, integrity, and triumph.
My academic accomplishments over my high school career have not defined who I am but helped shape me as person. From the second I walked into Hillside High my enrollment in honors/MYP and International Baccalaureate has been consistent. Report cards and transcripts have always labeled me as above average

From my freshman year to now and the near future I have played football and other sports at my school. I have been a leader by example on and off the field to my teammates on how to be a well-rounded student athlete. Over time I have become more wise and great deal of younger players look up to me and ask me for guidance on not just football or sports wise but also dealing with school and outside situations.
Different clubs I am affiliated with around my school has aided me on showing the type of person I am. As the vice President of my community-based organization/fraternity I like to uphold a successful image for myself and my organization. Other clubs I'm in such as Disability Awareness Club also require me to promote and inform my classmates and peers about topics relating to my organization.
Programs that I have participated outside and also been a contributing factor to the legacy I am leaving behind. While participating in the 2014 Delta Sigma Theta debutante Jabberwock ball I still maintained my academic integrity. Being a member on my local church's Youth Executive Board I have helped make decisions and new plans for the youth at church while still keeping up with my other extracurricular

I went to St. Michael School from Kindergarten through Eighth grade, so when it came time to leave for high school, I was not excited for the change. St. Michael was especially small in regards to student population. We had just under three hundred students split between all nine grades. That left roughly twenty to thirty kids per class. I was extremely used too this small environment and not exactly looking forward to the terrors of high school towering over me nor the thought of being lost in the sea of students. Over the years I was extremely imbedded in my academics. I had straight A’s for my entire time at St. Michael. I received the academic achievement award at Eighth grade promotion for having the highest GPA in my class. Despite this, I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to live up…

Participation in a club is seen as a part of a well-rounded person, and teenagers are told when they are applying for college that they will look more appealing if they have participated in many community changing clubs. As people get older they are asked to participate in a clubs ranging from parent-student clubs or book clubs. A club represents a way to enjoy oneself and work outside of one’s profession; it is known as an activity of high esteem. People who participate in clubs are often seen as people who have good time management and a big heart. Many clubs promote volunteer work, team activities, leadership, and help foster morality as well as good choices that will benefit a whole community. One of the specific reasons that clubs are seen as a positive part of our culture is because all school clubs consist of administration approved activities, and because of this it doesn’t allow for a negative club to be created. Clubs can only exist if apart of one of the following categories: fundraising, community service, career interest and interpersonal dynamic. Because of this the word “club” will never be associated with anything other than a group of people who want to divulge themselves into a hobby or service project. Clubs originated in the Victorian times in Britain, functioning as a place for men to attend lectures and participate in recreational activities. Over time they developed as a part of women’s culture (book club, sewing club, cooking club). This was especially true throughout times when women were supposed to be only the care takers of the house and children, as well as social with other mothers. Since then they have developed a connotation that pushes children and adults to be progressive, have a hobby outside of work, and enjoy themselves while (most of the time) helping…

Service is one pillar of the national honors society that I believe a lot in. I believe that service presents so many opportunities and is such a meaningful way for one to spend their time. During my years at Barrington High School thus far, I have participated in many service projects including packing school supplies for children in foster care, collecting money at ALS tag days, and working with children with disabilities in a horseback riding rehabilitation program. Every week I was excited to see the progress of the children I worked with as they grew through horseback riding, and I am proud to say I played a part in…

When joining a club you become involved with the school and your surroundings, For example, I knew a lot of people at school, but after joining the club I joined other things that got me a connection with the people who worked in the community, other schools, and also the people who worked in offices. It showed me ways on how to communicate with different people and people who have the same goals, so I could get a better understanding of what’s going on around me and be a team. This benefited me for the better because I learned how to become better-rounded and learn other great key concepts to life. For example, I learned how to manage my time efficiently because of the fact that I was trying to fit time in for homework, practice, club duties, and me time in my life. Managing time also comes with learning how to organize and be productive which is very essential to my life for making me…

In addition to scholarship and leadership, I am very active in service activities outside of school. At my mother’s house, we volunteer for a dog organization and foster pit-bulls who are injured and in need of nurturing. I also go with the Williamstown Jazz Band to perform at elderly homes in order to cheer up the residents. Furthermore, I will gladly partake in school sponsored activities without delay. All throughout school I have participated in many clubs and organizations that have not only molded me as a person, but have helped me to develop responsibility, and leadership skills. Currently I am an active member of National Honor Society, and DECA. Both of these organizations, provided by my high school, encourage leadership, volunteer work, and have high expectations for behavior, and grades. Being in National Honor Society has shown me to continually do for others in need. There are always opportunities to get involved with the community, and even create drives for things like stuffed animals, and blankets for children who are sick in the hospital, and “Care Catties” for cancer patients, which include tissues, water bottles, hard candy, and lotion. DECA is another organization I am involved in at Frenship High School. DECA is a business organization for high school marketing students looking to learn, develop and compete in a competitive event. I have been a member since my sophomore…
