Putting others before myself is something I want to be able to do, and with nursing it is the best way. You get everyday to take care of the sick people. Growing up my mother and grandmother would always put others before themselves. That is just the way they are. They are both great people and make so many happy, and I want to do the same. Becoming a nurse will give me all the opportunities in the world to put others first , and that is just what I will do. As a nurse, my patients …show more content…
will come first and their families as well.
I want to give my service to others as much as I can and nursing is a great way to do that.
I want to get to take care of the patients and be there for them when they really need the help and are sick. Giving my service to patients who need it makes me feel good. I know I am doing something for the greater good. It is a way of being able to give back to your community, because who knows, many of those patients in one way or another helped you get to where you are. Giving all you have to help the sick will make them better and heal. Nurses help save lives, and I have to say to me there is no greater gift than the gift to life. Helping to give the best of care to the sick, is one of the greatest acts of service you could
do.
The bond between the nurse and patient is one of the most beautiful things to see and have. I know my grandma, who a few years ago ended up in the hospital from Osteosarcoma, had a few of the best nurses out there. I felt that every nurse she had over this long period of time, treated her with such great care and each had a special bond with her. I feel like that special bond made her feel more comfortable because she knew she was in good hands. Not only that but kept her staying positive along side her family. I want to be ably to connect and have a special bond with my patients because I want the patient to feel like they are safe and can fully trust me. The impact a nurse can have on a patient is so great. The patient may not have any family left, and you may be the reason that they still have hope because you give it to them. As a nurse, you can be their shoulder to cry on or person they talk to when they get lonely. I want to be able to have this bond with patients and make a difference in their lives.
I know I won't be a perfect nurse, but no one is perfect. It is easy for me to say that I will be the best nurse possible and can guarantee I will give my patients the best of care. I will try my hardest at all I do. Whether I succeed in the beginning or not, I will never give up. Choosing nursing for what I feel to be very good reasons, reassured me that I am on the right path.
