people do not understand what abortion really is. Therefore I will begin by discussing what an…
Personally, I think that any form of abortion is tantamount to murder, and should never be permitted. This article only brings to my attention that women who wish to have abortions are only concerned for themselves, as the argument is based upon the health of the woman. Although the author’s argument may be valid concerning some facets of the issue, I believe the focus of the subject should shift from the mother to the living creature inside and its right to…
This means that only because women choose abortion, that decision does not always make a woman a bad person, and for that reason, it depends on the circumstances of why women are choosing to abort. It could be because she suffered a violation, incest, health problems, or just because she is not ready to be a parent yet. Women are free to decide if they want or not want to become a parent, and we live in a world in which they are free to recognize that they was wrong and can regret having a baby when considering that some women are not prepared to be a parent before it is too late. However, like everything in this world, we do not have to take too much advantage of that, and for the reason that it could be crucial to the health of women who can suffer irreversible…
In the Anna Quindlen’s article I believe her greatest argument was the quote“for years I believed that a woman’s right to choose was absolute, but now I wonder. Do I, with a stable home and marriage and sufficient stamina and money, have the right to choose abortion because a pregnancy is inconvenient right now? Legally I do have that right; legally I want to always to have that right. It is the morality of exercising it under those circumstances that makes me wonder.” So we can easily understand that woman have the rights to choose to go through the abortion process or choose to not to go through it and no one can take that from them. With this essay, I believe people can also understand that making the decision to have an abortion and give up your baby can be the hardest decision you can ever make because it can mentally and physically leave an impact on your life.…
Living in a judgmental world can be difficult at times when it comes to making choices. Abortion is a process that no women would want to partake in; however, if it is relevant or needed, then so be it.…
Feminists believe the controversy of abortion plays a large role in the equality between men and women. In the article “Abortion Through a Feminist Ethic Lens,” Susan Sherwin argues that the choice for abortion must be available for all women in order to liberate themselves from male dominance in our society. Sherwin believes that the pregnant woman is the only person in the position to make the decision on whether an abortion is appropriate or not, and that it is “improper to grant others the authority to interfere in women’s decisions to seek abortions” (113). A fetus is dependent on the woman and feminists believe that the fetus’s “social status and value must rest with the woman carrying it” (115). Pregnancy places heavy effects on the lives of women and takes place inside of their body; therefore policies on abortion uniquely affect women. Sherwin also argues that “women’s freedom to choose abortion is also linked with their ability to control their own sexuality” (114). Since male dominance exists, woman have limited control over their sexually lives. She backs up this argument by saying that men use “sex to express dominance and power” (114) and that few women feel they are able to refuse a man’s demand or want for sexual intercourse. Along with limited control over sex, Sherwin says since contraceptives alone cannot prevent pregnancy, abortion must be an available choice to free them from male dominance.…
I know what abortion does to a women and to unborn child, if a pregnancy is terminated within the 12 weeks the fetus is not fully develop, yes it is a very dramatic and traumatizing event but if you are not strong enough to believe you are doing the right thing for you and for that unborn baby I don’t see abortion as an illegal thing to do. We women have the right to decide if we are going to go thru it, it should be discuss with the father of course but if we don’t want, we don’t have to.…
Everyone’s entitled to their own choice. Whether your pro-choice or not, it’s still your decision. It’s your body and you’re allowed to make the decisions for it. The issue of abortion is very arguable in today's society. Although many people think it should not be legalized, there are just as many who think it should. Whether you think women should have the right to abortion or…
First, women should have the right to choose what they want to do with their baby because it may be bad for the woman herself to have to…
There are hundreds of social problems in the USA today and one of the most complicated is abortion. Abortion is so complicated because it affects a woman’s body, causing it to be a very personal and emotional issue, but at the same time because it is affecting a future American citizen, it becomes a problem that America as a society has to deal with. This causes America to be split into two sides, one side claiming that it should be the woman’s choice since they think it affects the woman alone and the other side claiming that it affects society as a whole and can’t be left to the woman alone to decide. The later position would seem to be the accurate claim considering the fact that over 50 million babies have been aborted in America since…
In the article, “My body, My employer, My abortion” by Loren Clark-Moe, stated the argument that every women is fully capable of making appropriate decisions about their health, their body, and life just as she made for herself.…
society were to ban abortion they women be robbing women of their natural rights. The…
I feel as though women should have the right to decide whether or not they would like to have an abortion. Having to go through numerous trials to see if you are mentally capable of having an abortion is really unconscionable interference. There are many factors that contribute to why a mother-to-be would have an abortion. She could have been raped or not be financially ready to have a child. I 100% agree with women wanting to have one. There should be no ones opinion into her decision, if she wants to have one it should be solely her decision.…
In conclusion, I believe it is a woman’s choice whether she does get an abortion or not and you do not know her reasons, so no one should be allowed to decide this for them, otherwise harmful abortions will keep killing and harming women or if they keep the baby it can be emotionally and physically harmful for the…
Abortion is an on-going debate throughout the United States. Americans divide 50% as pro-choice and 44% on pro-life. (Saad, 2015) Majority of women side with pro-choice, and being a woman myself, I stand with pro-choice. I believe that it’s an individual’s right to decide what they’re doing to their bodies, and no one else should be allowed to deny them of said right. There are many different reasons as to why someone would get an abortion. Whether it be from results of rape, birth control failure, teen pregnancy, or whatever the case may be, every abortion is thought out and no option is an easy option.…
