The results to both my Career Interest Profiler and Competencies shined light onto my strengths, weaknesses, and my work environment preferences. For my competencies I scored in between middle to high levels in delivering results, following instructions, organizing, and adapting to change. Discovering that I held these skills confirmed that my career choice was the right one. The results to my Career Interest Profiler were conventional, enterprising, and realistic. Although I was aware that I very easily adapted to change in my personal life, I would have never related that to be a positive outcome to have an interest in enterprising. All these characteristics, which can be found in accounting, intertwined with a degree will be the basis of being a successful and fulfilled professional.
Once enrolling at University of Phoenix, I had to make the decision about what degree I would pursue. At this point I knew I wanted to become a CPA but, I had two options in degrees to choose from – a Bachelor’s in business with a concentration in accounting or a Bachelor’s in accounting. Either one would prepare me for Arizona’s CPA exam but I would meet Arizona’s education requirements upon receiving a Bachelor’s in accounting. I
