My Personal Value: Happiness
A value is a belief a mission or a philosophy that is meaningful, weather we are consciously aware of them or not. During the value action my top tree values where wisdom, happiness and self respect. As a class the their where 8 values bought for 2000 dollars each, which happiness was one of them. Personally I was surprised that wisdom and self respect weren't one of the top value list as a class. My personal value starts with happiness. Undoubtedly, happiness is the most important part in our lives. But if you ask different individuals what is happiness, there are absolutely a wide variety of answers you would hear. It is difficult to define happiness because it means different things to different people. Happiness to me is the state of consciousness which proceed from the achievement of one’s values. Basically to be happy all personal values must be met. I also think that happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence. I don’t think life is possible without happiness. “The road to success is not straight. There is a curb called Failure, a loop called Confusion; speed bumps called Friends; red lights called Enemies; caution lights called Family. You will have flats called jobs. But, if you have a spare called Determination; an engine called Perseverance; insurance called Faith, and a driver called God, you will make it to a place called Success!!” to me wisdom is summarized in to this quote. Wisdom means an inner knowing and being willing to learn and not be stubborn about it. Wisdom is the ability to extract the good and the ability to act with integrity even if all around you is not reflecting the values that you hold dear to your heart. To obtain wisdom one must have good judgment, pure confidence, and knowledge. When a person has obtained these three traits then and only then, will a person experience true wisdom. Even though these three traits seem to be easily obtainable most people will never truly

Values are stable, long lasting beliefs about what is important for a person. Values are individual and very powerful, but very important for each and every human. All kinds of values have a little power on affecting humans, because values have an important influence at human´s behavior, attitudes and perceptions. The history of the game of basketball is unique to other sports. Instead of the game gradually developing into a sport over time, the invention of basketball was immediate. In eighteen-ninety-one, when a local YMCA gave him the task of creating a game for students, James Naismith designed a game he named “basketball”. From there, the game quickly grew into a national and worldwide phenomenon. Only forty-five years later, in nineteen-thirty-six, basketball was introduced to the Olympics games. Founded in nineteen-forty-nine, the National Basketball Association, a collection of professional men’s teams, became the nation’s hallmark league. Finally, the WNBA (Women’s National Basketball Association) was created in nineteen-ninety-six. Now, basketball…

Many people dream about being an American. They dream because they envision America as the land of peace and prosperity. But is it? At times it has been, and at times its not. It is hard for the United States to be correct all the time because they have been unwilling designated as the "World Police". Throughout history there have been examples politically, economically, and socially, where being an American is rewarding and times where it is embarrassing. To be an American means progress. We evolved from a world ruled by white men to a world of equal opportunity.…

The value that I hold most dear is appreciation. Not always did I cherish this value but a life changing experience caused me to appreciate all that I’ve been given. The life changing experience was a mission trip. In February I was given the opportunity to go to Guatemala and build very tiny houses for families who lived in the mountains. Every village we visited were different but they all had two things in common, laughter and thankfulness. I am still amazed and in awe of how the Guatemalans were filled with joy with the little that they had, they had a strong appreciation for the lives that they lived, they were simply thankful.…

A definition of a value is not easy to define exactly. They are something primary and personal to each of us. Our values help us navigate our personal and professional lives and guide us in making decisions. Considered our internal compass, they help give us direction and point out our true selves, values are the starting points for morality and ethics. They are developed throughout the course of our lives, taking from all of our life experiences. This lifelong collaboration and interaction of values, morals and ethics is what defines who we are. But there is a hierarchy to our values, some are transient and adaptable while others hold more worth, influencing the judgments we make. These values are our foundation, and they will never change,…

In Socrates’s quest to find the true meaning of wisdom, he found the secret to wisdom, which he revealed to the jury during his trial. He said that he had observed many men who thought themselves to be wise and were proud because of it. He explained that because they were incredibly prideful about what they thought to be their wisdom, they were not wise. To Socrates, to have wisdom is to be able to admit your ignorance. In other words, wisdom is…

At this point in my life, i would like to say that i value my happiness most in life. In my mind, I mean happiness can mean a lot of different things, and the definition may vary from one person to another. As for me, I mean this happiness means different things for me, such as, i hope my parents have good health, i hope my friends happy everyday and so many things around me. I honestly wish that were the case. Over the past year, i have had a significant amount of time to think about why i feel the way i do about the components of my life, i always ask myself what do i want through my life. In doing so i believe that my family is my most valuable entity. Because my own happiness is from i accepting the "advice" and " encouragement" they give me, as for me, they must certainly be of more value to me than my own happiness. So i want to say my value is happiness which is depends on my family.…
