Personality Type
According to C.G. Jung’s theory and after taking the Jung typology test, my personality type is Extraverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving (ENTP). If they continue with this overly ambitious attitude they could breakdown. ENTPs can become irritable with inconveniences. ENTPs are also all about improving and changing their surroundings as well and experimenting when necessary (Jung Typology Test, n.d.). I feel this personality test is not a direct reflection of my personality. It clearly points out that I’m extraverted, but the other three areas were so slight they could have gone either way. I feel that I’m one that acclimates well to my surroundings and works well with all personality types. As a leader, and according to the ENTP personality, the things that would make me an effective leader is the ability to problem solve, an ambitious attitude, and the need to improve the things around me. As a nurse leader, those traits can be an asset in working in health care. There are many problems that arise in every field and getting to the root of the problem and solving it can be a plus as a nurse leader. Areas that would hamper me as a nurse leader according to the test results would be my need to cut corners and becoming irritable with inconveniences. Leaders need to offer ways to settle this difficulty (Johnstone & Manica, 2011). Personalities need to be recognized and as leaders, we need to learn to work with every personality type. We cannot have the mentality “my way or the highway” attitude. Learning to be the best leader by recognizing everyone is different and being positive in your actions is so important.
Conclusion
This paper has explained my personality type according to the Jung typology test. I have described the areas that according to my personality type, can help me as a leader and also hamper me as a leader. I also explored the four areas of my personality assessment. I do feel that I have a clearer understanding of each type of personality explained by Jung’s theory. I do, however, feel that my test in three areas, besides being a clear extravert, could have swayed either way. I was considered an ENTP by a very narrow margin and with that I feel I would have to be aware of the traits sensing, feeling, and
